Thinking of how the clown man had killed the white-flamed cat and destroyed the Robot Thunderbolt Gorilla with a strike of his sword, the two could not help but respect and fear the clown man. Both of them did not know that the legs of the powerful being that they respected had already turned into jelly upon his leaving the base.

Luckily, they did not try to attack and probe any further, or else I'd be dead meat!

Steve was still wary. Once they attacked him and realized that Steve was an imposter, they'd definitely rip him apart! Steve was afraid that the two would catch on, so dared not stay any longer. So, he grabbed Lucy and ran!

"Come on, let's hurry up and leave this place!" Steve said.

"What happened inside? What happened to my sister? Did you get the treasure?" Lucy inquired.

"I'll tell you once we leave this place," Steve said.

The reward he got this time was shocking. He got the mysterious seven-colored egg, a boss level magical beast's meat, and an optical computer with Collic's cells inside. More importantly, he got the Beast Soul Technique named the Claw Storm Attack. The total value of all of these rewards exceeded 500 million in original gold!

Steve left hastily with Lucy. Along the way, Lucy kept asking about what happened down there, but Steve could only skip over the details. This was because, even if he were to tell the truth, this silly girl might not believe it.

"If I told you that I defeated a F grade 1001 generation robot and killed a boss level magical beast with one strike of my sword, would you believe it?" Steve replied truthfully.

"Are you alright, Steve? Could it be that your brain has been damaged by an illness?" Lucy said with a concerned expression.

A F grade 1001 generation robot's combat powers were stronger than any one being with a cell activation level of 100% , and boss level magical beasts' levels of cell activation had already reached 100%. So, defeating them with Steve's skills was like a fantasy!

Steve had already predicted that Lucy would not believe him, so he came up with another story.

"I saw Sofia and Stuart battling a boss level magical beast at the entrance, so I did not dare to go inside. After that, a mysterious level one evolved being killed the boss level magical beast and took the treasure away. Seeing as he was about to come out, I left in a fright," Steve said.

Lucy heaved a sigh of relief, believing Steve's words. She then said, "Luckily you're smart and did not go in. Otherwise, the boss level magical beast would have been able to rip you apart easily."

Steve's expression was one of helplessness, as n.o.body believed the truth, yet Lucy had believed the lies that he told her! Of course, Steve could show her the evidence, including the white-flamed cat, the seven-colored egg, etc. However, these things were too shocking and would only scare Lucy, making it harder for her to accept the truth.

"But, I did not leave empty-handed," Steve finished saying.

Even though both of them had feelings for each other and were familiar with each other's bodies, the young lady still insisted that her first time be under more romantic circ.u.mstances. This made Steve feel frustrated, but he respected her wishes.

The night with that, and before they knew it, it was noon! The two of them had just returned to the camp, when they b.u.mped into Sofia and Stuart, who were coming out of the entrance of the camp.

Sofia's faced soured upon seeing Lucy with Steve.

"Let go of my sister!" she screamed, as she went up and pulled Lucy away, looking coldly at Steve. "What did you do to my sister, you piece of trash?"

Steve's brows crinkled in displeasure, as Lucy piped up to defend him, saying, "Sister, I teamed up with Steve to kill some magical beasts! Besides, what can he do to me with those skills of his?"

Lucy was blus.h.i.+ng furiously, due to the fact that, other than her first time, she had almost experienced everything with Steve. Of course, if Sofia were to know about these things, she would be furious!

"It's only been a few days, and you've improved quite a lot, you tras.h.!.+ I see you've put yourself under the patronage of Lucy, then." Stuart walked over and looked at Steve with contempt. He then said, "Relying on tricking girls to improve your skills, are you even a man, Steve?"

Sofia was even more enraged, as she looked at Steve with blazing eyes and said, "How dare you trick Lucy into being your lackey."

Steve frowned and said coldly, "My collaboration with Lucy benefits both of us, and I have never tricked her."

For the first couple of days, it was indeed Lucy, who was in charge of hunting the magical beasts, while he was in charge of whipping up delicacies. But, he also taught and guided Lucy on how to perfect the Fundamental Practices of Energy Absorption, which had helped her improve her practice by leaps and bounds. The thought of relying on a woman to make himself stronger never even occurred to him!

"Benefit each other? You two?" Sofia mocked. "Your level of cell activation is less than 20%, and my sister's has already exceeded 50%. With those skills of yours, how could you benefit her?"

"Sofia, your words are going to hurt Steve's pride." Lucy was displeased.

"Shut up! You're still young, so you don't know when someone has an ulterior motive." Sofia interrupted Lucy, as she gave Steve a frosty look and said, "Don't you dare meet my sister ever again!"

They obviously thought that, just because Steve was weaker than them, they could look down upon him, and even refuse to let him meet Lucy.

"Sofia, you think you're so powerful? Isn't your ranking still below mine?" Steve said in a blind fit of rage.

Sofia's gaze was as cold as ice, and a murderous look flashed across Stuart's pupils. This was a scar of disgrace and shame that they could not erase!

"Steve, I dare you to repeat that!" Sofia said indignantly. Steve opened his mouth and was about to continue, when Lucy ran up to him, hugged him, and said, "Honey, please stop talking. My sister's already furious, so if you were to agitate her any further, she'd really take action!"

Lucy was actually touched to see Steve, a man who knew that he was no match for his opponent, but who was still willing to stand out and protect her, behave this way. This simple love was enough to make her commit herself to him.

"I won't give you up!" Steve said, as he gripped Lucy's hand tightly and looked at Sofia. "Perhaps, the both of you think that my victory last time was a fluke, but I will prove to you that, from now on, my rankings will always be higher than yours! I'll prove to you that I have the capabilities to protect Lucy."
