162 Armored Robots

Even if an armored robot happened to be on sale on the black market, it would probably be a modified version of an armored robot, which had been phased out from a previous use in the battlefield. It could also be one that had been picked up by a battlefield scavenger and was then sold after having been repaired. These armored robots were also extremely expensive.

Likewise, an armored robot soldier was one of the most advanced category of soldiers. It was even one level higher than a fighter pilot.

Moreover, the robots were a favorite bonding topic among men. To drive a large armored robot across the battlefield and destroy the enemy soldiers was considered an amazing thing to do, so many men liked to brag about having done this.

"As you can see, today's first lesson is on armored robots!" Instructor Bob stood on the elevator on the robot and looked at the soldiers standing below.

As an instructor for armored robots, he had gotten used to how new recruits eyed the robots. The scene was quite chaotic, as everyone was talking excitedly. They were all eager to become armored robot soldiers.

"I know that you all want to be armored robot fighters. However, to be an armored robot soldier, you need to be very talented." Everyone was silent, listening to his explanation.

"Operating an armored robot is one of the highest honors in the battlefield. To operate one, you need luck and innate talent. Whether you can become an armored robot fighter will depend on these things," Instructor Bob said with a calm face.

"What kind of talent do you need, Instructor Bob?" one of the soldiers asked.

"Body and brain," Bob said, while he pointed to his torso and head.

Many recruits at the scene showed doubtful expressions. Though they all knew that being an armored soldier was one of the highest honors, they were not familiar with the conditions for becoming one.

"So, according to you, it takes a strong body to operate these big guys, especially to withstand the tremendous pressure they bring?" the student asked.

"Yes, and at the same time, an armored robot would be linked to one's nerves, which requires a higher tolerance of the brain!" Instructor Bob explained.

He then added, "Hence, to operate an armored robot, just like how we operate our own hands and feet, causes a huge burden on the brain. Even with decompression techniques that are deployed in devices inside the robot, it is still quite demanding on the brain. Thus, it is not an easy task to operate the armored robot."

Basically, it was akin to enlarging your body to over a hundred meters high, while your brain stayed the same size. On the other hand, to operate an armored robot more than 100 meters tall with a normal human body would cause a huge burden on the brain, and it might even lead to the brain feeling so pressured that it explodes!

Thus, operating an armored robot was more difficult than operating a body that was over 100 meters tall. As a result, the few humans who were picked to operate an armored robot were all highly gifted.

Just like pilots who flew fighter planes, not everyone was qualified to become such elite pilots. Similarly, there were intense requirements for talent, as well as a detailed screening in order to become an armored robot soldier.

After listening to his explanation, many soldiers were shocked that the requirements for operating the robot were so high!

"According to many years of research, the stronger the brain waves are, the stronger one's physical fitness is, making it easier to match with the armored robot," Bob calmly said. "Today's lesson will test whether you have the talent to become an armored robot soldier."
