After all, the welcome party was not just a contest between veterans and recruits, but a testing ground for the observation of future talents. If noticed and valued, one would naturally be nurtured. Of course, none of the recruits knew about all this factor.

The battle continued. It seemed like Charles was beating up Andrew and abusing him as he wished.

"Why don't you give up?" Charles did not stop punching, while he asked.

Andrew grinned, showing the blood on his lips. He then said, "I see your intentions! You want to bring a severe blow to the recruits' courage. Then, once they lose their courage to fight with you, we will be completely defeated in the group battle, without even a chance to fight back."

He paused to wipe the blood off of his mouth, then added, "Now the situation is different. As long as I don't admit defeat, my counterparts will become angrier and more defiant! Then, during the group battle, that repressed anger will be vented on you! Even if we were to lose, you would pay a heavy price!"

After saying this, Andrew smiled. He had long seen through his opponent's evil plot and would rather sacrifice himself by getting beaten up than allow his counterparts' courage to be distinguished.

"Hahaha, is it worth it?" Charles laughed.

"It's worth it! After all, my counterparts will pay you back during the group battle. We stand to win big in this 'lucrative' deal, with only a small sacrifice being invested!" Andrew retorted.

His words caused an unexplainable sense of fear to wedge itself in Charles' heart. He was not afraid that Andrew was better than him, but was afraid that Andrew was stubborn and not afraid to die!

At the same time, Charles could feel that the recruits were looking at him angrily, with no one was asking for surrender after the chaos. But, the anger was directed at him only.

"Haha... Are you scared?" Andrew laughed and said, "I'm sure you'll be more miserable than me in the next battle!"

As if to support his very words, the recruits were eyeing Charles and suppressing their anger. When the group battle started, there would be a lot of people targeting Charles in order to avenge Andrew!

"You crazy man!" Charles said angrily. "If you want to die, don't pull me down with you!"

"Heh heh... I have an idea. You admit defeat, and I a.s.sure you that they won't do anything to you," said Andrew, still laughing as he spoke.

"Impossible! I have already won!" Charles said angrily. He then grew silent, even slowing down his attack a little.

He knew that Andrew was right. However, in the end, he also truly believe that the veterans would surely defeat all of the recruits.

With this in mind, Charles said, "Okay, I agree. However, you will have to put up an act with me…"

"Deal!" Andrew replied.

At that moment, Charles punched Andrew, as if he was ready to knock Andrew down completely with just one blow. But, when Charles threw his punches, he left vulnerable a fatal flaw, his chin.

Andrew revealed an angry look. Then, taking this opportunity, he suddenly punched Charles on the chin!

Bam!

Suddenly, Charles reeled backward and spat out a mouthful of blood. When the crowd saw this, they were shocked. No one had expected such a sudden reversal of events!

Charles was now lying motionless on the ground, as he had lost consciousness. The recruits were shocked, while the veterans were in complete disbelief.

After all, just a moment ago, Charles was about to win. No one could understand how had been KO'd all of a sudden!

"Charles lost consciousness! Andrew won!" Connell announced, then added, "According to the rules, the veteran team will now be reduced by one hundred people."

At this time, someone ran into the ring and carried Charles away in hopes of resuscitating him. Although most everyone was shocked, it did not mean that no one had seen through their act...
