113 The Arrival Of Collic

Indeed, the demon had no intention of letting Steve and the others live. After all, the less people who knew about the seven-colored eggs, the better! Besides, lies were told by demons on a daily basis.

Steve's face was grim, as he realized just how extremely cunning demons could be! This simply meant that he'd need to be even more cunning than them!

"I can return the treasure to you, but you have to let them go first." Steve held out the Silver Shark Armor and Ice Wing Flying Knife, while standing in the distance, to express his sincerity.

Collic furrowed its brows, not sure whether to trust him or not.

"What you want is the treasure, so as long as they don't know what the treasure is, what's the difference between killing or not killing them?" Steve asked calmly. "And, the longer you delay, the less benefit any action you take will have! It's better to just hurry up and go along with the transaction. With your skills, are you afraid that I'd run away from you?"

Steve's last sentence really agitated the demon. In Collic's eyes, Steve was just like an annoying ant. Collic could just stretch out its hands and have him dead at any moment!

Collic revealed his extreme annoyance, saying, "No, I can kill the whole lot of you! Then, I can search your bodies for the treasure that I want!"

Collic did not wish to waste anymore time. After all, it was just like Steve had said, the longer the demon took to act, the more likely it'd be to expose its tracks.

When it had first started plotting this operation, Collic had planned to follow the a.s.sa.s.sins secretly. Collic figured that it didn't even matter if the a.s.sa.s.sin couldn't accomplish the mission, as long as they could create confusion and were able to find Steve's location.

That way, Collic would be able to get there as soon as possible, and because of the chaos caused by the beast tide, the strong human beings would be too busy and distracted to be able to help themselves. Hence, Collic would have enough time to kill Steve and get the treasure!

"If you were to kill me, you'd never get your treasure back!" Steve sneered. "You think I'd be so silly as to put such a precious treasure in such an obvious place for others to find?"

After realizing the importance of the seven-colored eggs, Steve and the Heart of the Universe started thinking of ways to hide them. Thus, only he knew where the seven-colored eggs were hidden.

"Are you threatening me?" Collic's gaze was cold, and the demon was growing angrier by the minute.

As a superior being, how can I be threatened by a humble subordinate?

"No, it's a fact!" Steve sneered. "You should be able to realize that the treasure's not on me."

Collic frowned, as the sensor did indeed show that the treasure was on Steve, but when he approached Steve, he found that the sensor would stop working, then making it seem as if the treasure was not on Steve!

Previously, he thought that the sensor was broken, but now, it seemed that Steve had used special methods to hide the treasure.

"You only have two choices now. The first is to release the both of them and I'll stay to give you the treasure. The second is that we'll all be killed and you won't be able to get the treasure," Steve said calmly.

"Human, you are good," Collic said coldly. "I agree to your conditions, so I'll release them."

After all, with Collic's level-one evolution strength, the demon was not afraid of Steve's tricks. Even if it were to allow Selma and Elizabeth to escape, it could still kill Steve after it had gotten the treasure, then still have enough time to catch up and kill the both of them too!

But, it actually didn't matter if Collic couldn't kill the two women, as the treasure was the most important thing. Both of Collic's slender tails released their grips on the two women at that moment. Now freed, Elizabeth and Selma gasped for breath.

"The two of you, leave immediately!" Steve snapped at them.

"No, I won't leave you alone..." Elizabeth's face was pale and her eyes were full of stubbornness.

"Selma, take Elizabeth away." Steve pointed to a new b.u.mblebee Chariot.

Selma looked grim, but still obeyed and took Elizabeth to the b.u.mblebee Chariot.

"I will not go! I'm not going!" Elizabeth kept struggling.

"We'd only be a burden to Steve if we stayed," Selma said. "You have to trust Steve."

Steve looked at Elizabeth, then said, "Don't worry, I'll come back and join you guys."
