107 Interception

Roar roar!

Suddenly, a lion's roar came from the cliff above, followed immediately by a huge shadow, which fell directly from the sky and landed in front of the Matrix Chariot! The three of them looked over to see a flaming lion in golden armor!

"An original-level Gray Fiery Lion!" Steve said, then added, "It's equipped with an armor, so it's definitely not a wild magical beast."

"Darn human thief! We finally meet!" The Grey Fiery Lion said in a rough voice.

Steve and the others' faces turned even more grim in the face of this talking original-level magical beast. They knew that this creature was far from an ordinary magical beast. In fact, it was likely on the verge of breaking through to becoming a level-one evolution being!

Steve, who was about to enter the Matrix Chariot, walked over and said, "The two of you go first. I'll hold it off."

"No! We'll all leave together," Selma said coldly, then added, "The Matrix Chariot still has some power left. Use it to kill the beast. Then, if we have to, we'll just abandon the chariot and walk back to the safe area."

"Selma's right. It's too dangerous for you to deal with the original-level beings alone." Elizabeth had to agree.

Along the way, they had also seen Steve's strength. He could kill magical beasts with a cell activation level of over 80% easily, since he was almost as strong as an ordinary being.

However, the Grey Fiery Lion was obviously no ordinary-level magical beast, as its combat power was estimated to be at least 500 points! She knew this because only magical beasts with individual combat powers of more than 500 points could speak. "No, it's even more dangerous for you to stay here…" Steve was still trying to dissuade them from staying.

A shrill laugh interrupted them, followed by a scream from the sky. Then, a creature with two pairs of black feathered wings and four cows' legs on its lower body appeared. It was clearly a monster, yet it had a human face! Upon seeing it, Steve and the others knew its ident.i.ty immediately.

"A demon!" Steve said, his voice grim.

"Why is a demon here?" Selma looked pale.

"That's a Ram-horned Demon, with four wings behind him, which means that he has reached the original level," Elizabeth's said solemnly, as she knew that the appearance of a demon was even worse than a magical beast.

This was because demons, apart from their appearances, were no different from humans. Moreover, the weapons that they controlled were more powerful than human weapons! As such, encountering an original-level equipped magical beast and an original-level demon was an obvious disaster for Steve and the others.

Steve suddenly came to his senses, then accused the creature, shouting, "You were the one that caused the beast tide!"

"Smart human! No wonder Lord Collic sent me to capture you. Yes, we caused the beast tide, for you!" The Ram-horned Demon stretched out a slender branch-like hand, then smiled as it pointed at Steve, its fingernails sharp and slender.

"Collic!" Steve's face changed instantly. Collic had actually created such a ruckus for him!

"How dare you mess around so close to the human base? Are you not afraid that the powerful humans would kill you?" Elizabeth asked angrily. She couldn't help drawing closer to Steve, as she knew immediately that he was in danger.

"You're here for that object?" Steve asked calmly.

"What object?" The Grey Fiery Lion asked coldly. "We are taking you, or at least your body, back, according to Lord Collic's orders."

Steve breathed out a sigh of relief upon hearing this, as it seemed that the Demon Collic had not told his men about the seven-colored egg. But, the situation was still very bad.

Heart of the Universe, give me an a.n.a.lysis of their data. Steve instructed in his head.

"Already collecting the data..." The Heart of the Universe responded.

Steve did not dare to act rashly for the time being, because he did not yet know the particulars of the creatures' combat powers. If they were to be more powerful than he estimated, he might be killed instantly in a blink of an eye!
