171 Stinger Bee

"Brother Che, you're really awesome!"

"Woah, that was a group of two-star bronze-quality beasts! Brother Che put them down with just a wave of his hand!"

"Brother Che is mighty!"

His teammates praised him one after another. However, Zhang Che was expressionless. He freed one of his arms and received the four beast cards from the Gale Wolf King's mouth, stuffing them into his s.h.i.+rt pocket.

Ah, being invincible is really lonely!

-We merely obtained a few two-star bronze-quality beast cards, and these guys are making such a big deal out of it. If we were to gain a few silver-quality, or even gold-quality beast cards, wouldn't they start wors.h.i.+pping me like a G.o.d?-

However, Zhang Che immediately humbled down once he thought of that little green bird they had all seen earlier.

To become someone who was really powerful, they would need to have at least one subdued beast or pet of that caliber, right?

--------------

Time slowly trickled away. The Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander kept racing forward, pa.s.sing through valleys, crossing mountains and rivers. Before they knew it, they were a few dozen kilometers into the hunting zone.

Now, they could no longer see any other teams in their surroundings.

Zheng Hongru suggested, "Brother Che, why don't we dismount here and start hunting exotic beasts?"

"That's right, Brother Che. If we continue riding, my b.u.t.t will start cracking!" the outwardly cold Li Da agreed in a low m.u.f.fled voice.

Zhang Che had no choice but to tell the Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander to lower its speed. He said, "Just endure a little bit longer. These beasts are too weak and there's not enough of them to be worth it. We'll go a little further ahead and see if we can encounter stronger exotic beasts."

It couldn't be helped; riding on the Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander was indeed not a fun experience. If it wasn't for the fact that Zhang Che's physique had been altered to an inhuman level, he too would be in agony right now.

-------------

They rode another few kilometers ahead. Under the constant frustrated groans from Zheng Hongru and the others, Zhang Che directly ignored the single exotic beasts they came across. He didn't even send the Gale Wolf King, who was running alongside them, to go kill those exotic beasts.

There really was no point in doing so. These low-tier exotic beasts weren't in groups. Whether you got a beast card out of them truly depended on your luck, and Zhang Che's luck had always been not that good…

------

Finally, Zhang Che ordered the Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander to stop when they saw a long and narrow valley before them.

Looking at the long valley in front of them, Zhang Che turned his head around and looked at his teammates, who were still rubbing their b.u.t.ts, and said sternly, "Now, we're going into the valley in front to take a look. No one knows what's the situation ahead is like. So, I hope that you guys will obey my orders fully. Don't ever get too far away from me, and you must also not act recklessly. Otherwise, I can't guarantee that I will be able to look out for all of you if there's any danger. Do you understand?"

"Don't worry, Brother Che. We know what we should do!"

"I got it, Brother Che!"

Zheng Hongru and the others knew that this matter was no joke. They put their game faces on and nodded in acknowledgement.

Zhang Che nodded in return. "Alright then. Let's move out!"

As he spoke, a golden ray of light shot out from between his brow and circled around him, transforming into a ferocious looking huge crocodile… Well, in the eyes of those four, this gold-quality armor of their Brother Che was simply too cool.

Stopping a baby from crying was only a basic function! The defense of such a st.u.r.dy-looking gold-quality armor must be heaven-defyingly high, right?

However, the only thing that impacted its appearance was the bow container and quiver hanging on Zhang Che's back.

Zheng Hongru and the others wanted to share Zhang Che's burden as well, but they were only ordinary men. There was no way they could carry such heavy equipment. If they tried to carry the load, they would only be greatly reducing their mobility. It would truly be troublesome once they came across any dangers.

Considering that they had to try their best to obtain sufficient good beast cards within the next five days, Zheng Hongru and the rest summoned all their subdued beasts, which followed closely by their respective master's sides. Despite not having much fighting strength, they could at least help to block a strike or two if danger came.

The team of five led an army of subdued beasts, slowly advanced forward, and soon stepped into the valley.

Although the cliffs on both sides weren't very high, the valley was rather dark. There were wild gra.s.ses and shrubbery everywhere, and it was extremely easy for small poisonous exotic beasts to conceal themselves.

However, with the Gale Wolf King and Dark-Scaled Lizard Commander at his side, Zhang Che wasn't very worried about this. Everything would be fine as long as these adolescent youngsters didn't get too hot-headed and rush ahead.

It was very obvious that although Zheng Hongru and the others were young, and not very strong, their brains weren't faulty. They knew they had to stick together, with Zhang Che at their core, in such a dangerous area. This was the only way to guarantee everyone's safety, and the fastest way to obtain good beast cards.

---------------

The group gradually ventured deeper. Surprisingly, however, they didn't encounter a single exotic beast on the way.

Zheng Hongru and the others' faces were starting to relax.

However, Zhang Che warned them strictly, "Don't get careless. I can sense that this valley is a little strange. If there are any abnormal movements later, you must remember to not get too far away from me!"

Seeing Zhang Che acting so serious, they started to become wary again, removing all complacency.

Suddenly, the Gale Wolf King who was leading the way stopped in place. It arched its body slightly, the fur on its back standing on end.

Zhang Che's heart tightened. There must be something extremely powerful ahead to make the Gale Wolf King this tense. He hurriedly raised his hand and halted everyone's steps, signalling to them with his gaze that they must pay attention to not get too far away from him.

Weng weng weng… A faint wave of buzzing sounds suddenly droned in front of them. There seemed to be a huge swarm of insects gathered ahead.

-s.h.i.+t, is it some poisonous wasp-like exotic beasts or something?-

Zhang Che's face sank. Just as such thoughts popped up in his mind, he saw a spread of black dots that reached as far as he could see flying in their direction.

"Run!" Zhang Che turned his head and yelled at Zheng Hongru and the others, while he tightened his grip on the Mutated Puffersword.

When out in the wild, the most scary thing was encountering these insect-type exotic beasts that gathered in groups. They were tiny and agile, making it hard to hit them. Not only that, these exotic beasts often had poisonous attacks. They truly were extremely troublesome to deal with.

If Zhang Che was alone, he wouldn't be worried in the least. He had the Swamp Crocodile King armor protecting him. These ordinary poisonous exotic beasts could forget about penetrating his defense. However, the situation now was different. The four greenhorns at his side needed his protecting.

At present, he could only have them retreat out of the valley for now, and hope that these poisonous insects wouldn't go after them. Otherwise, things would become incredibly tricky.

Zheng Hongru and the others saw those insects flying closer and closer to them. After taking a closer look, they realized that the insects were as big around as a fist and about a foot long, with a sharp stinger as thick as a finger at the end of their abdomen.

What else needed to be said? Run!

"Brother Che, you be careful yourself!"

They still had some conscience in them, actually reminding Zhang Che before they ran away.

"Just go!" Zhang Che chided them with a smile, finding it both funny and annoying, before looking back to the swarm of bees which were now only mere dozens of meters ahead.
