'He's so cute when he's flushed' she thought to herself.

"I like you too. Since granny liked you, it meant I would too. Although she often talked to me about other guys since I turned 16, you were the first she handed me over to." She rubbed her neck embarra.s.singly. "I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing", she managed to add while trying not to look at him.

"Can we give it a try? Me and you, you and me. I would really like to make it work. Will you be my girlfriend?"

This was Quincy's first confession ever. His heart was beating a tattoo into his chest right now. He thought he'd pa.s.s out any minute, so he asked her without hesitating.

This wasn't a first for Seraphina. She's received so many confession from high school up til her graduate school years. But why did this confession make her so fl.u.s.tered? She really couldn't figure it out.

"I will", she squeezed out in a tiny voice.

"I'd like to give it a try with you." She beamed happily after she gave her reply.

Quincy's heart came back to him. He hadn't felt this way since his SAT score reveal. He was excited, confused, shocked, but definitely happy. All of a sudden, he heard "WAIT!", making his heart drop even further.

"Regretting it so quick? That's not a good thing"

She giggled, "No, not at all. There's just one thing I'm curious about"

"Fire ahead darling". Quincy took on his boyfriend role faster than a bullet triggered.

"You won't happen to have girls around you that are obsessed with you right? Girls that have the "I'm the only one perfect for him" mentality, right????"

There it was again, the eyebrow lift and crinkled nose. This time, he stood up and walked over to her, placing a soft peck on her nose. While taking in her shocked expression, Quincy let out a laugh before proceeding to give her an answer.

"You can't escape compet.i.tion darling. How else is our relations.h.i.+p supposed to grow? You own my heart now, n.o.body else matters."

"I do have two family friends that chase after me endlessly, but now that I have you, I'll leave them to you to handle. I'm sure you'll get to meet them in the future."

He was really surprised when she asked her question.

"Okay. I better get my pesticide ready for the sprouting weeds around my man". His kiss really surprised her. It felt itchy and good.

"Do you wanna have lunch with granny tomorrow? We need to thank her", she said coquettish manner.

"Definitely. I'm so happy I took her granddaughter off her hands", he said with a wink.
