73 Dead....

*Sorry for leaving, I had an emergency at the office. Love you always....Ry* Was the note he scribbled down hastily before he left, no good morning, no breakfast in bed like the old times and most importantly, he wasn't around for me to clear things up with him. I sighed with exhausted and made to get up. I slumped back in the bed the moment I stood up, I was so sore that I could hardly stand straight, yeah, that was how intense yesterday was.

I struggled out of bed and prepared for the day with a little bit of difficulty, maybe it was because of my current condition or because of the intense exercise that happened the day before and by the time I was ready to go to the restaurant, it was past 11am. Thankfully Ry had dropped Dayo at her nursery on his way to work earlier, so I didn't have to stress about that again. I was about leaving the house when I got a call from an unknown number.

"h.e.l.lo my dear daughter with the life of a c.o.c.kroach." The familiar voice filled my ears before I had a chance to talk, my blood ran cold. It can't be her, it's not possible, she doesn't know I'm alive.

"What do you think Vee, that I'll never find out?, even if you went to Mars, I'll still eventually know that you're alive and well and prosperous too. So how about a little reunion?, I already have my granddaughter with me. I'll text you the time and place, don't dare delay.... Or my pretty little Leah would have to pay for it." The vicious voice commanded before the line went dead and I felt faint immediately. She had my daughter with her, she had my baby with her..... Oh my G.o.d.

I dialed Ry's number but it took me to voice mail immediately, I was trying my best to be calm, was pacing around the large living room to calm down my nerve as I continued dialing Henry's number even if I knew he wouldn't answer it, in the end, I smashed the poor device on the d.a.m.n floor and rushed towards it almost immediately as I realised that I needed it to get to Dayo, hopefully. Thankfully it wasn't damaged but for the shattered screen. Joe barely missed the vase I towards the door in frustration.

"Ma'am, what's wrong?" He asked worriedly and I stared at him with a wild expression.

"Tell me something Joe, who took Dayo to school today?" I asked in a calm voice, contrasting the raging anger I was feeling.

"Your husband ma, Dayo didn't want to go though, buy mast–" He was interrupted by the shrill voice of my message notification tone.

*Your grandfather's residence, 1pm....don't be late* I checked the time and it was 12 noon and the drive to grandfather's residence takes an hour and 30 minutes so I dashed towards the garage without Joe's questions about what went wrong and what he should tell his boss when he got home. It wasn't until I was halfway there that I realised that going there alone without protection might be dangerous so I called Ry for the umpteenth time and he still wasn't picking, I tried calling Michael too but it also went to voicemail. Then I did what I should have thought twice about doing, I informed the police.

"My husband is a friend to the commissioner p.r.i.c.k, so register my complaints and get your boys to this address as soon as possible or you'll be gone from the force before a blink of an eye." I yelled at the pathetic DPO and he nodded hastily and took down my complaint. I almost felt bad for him but everybody is fair in love and war, so I concentrated on getting both my grandfather and my baby away from the witch that was back to wreck havoc.

Sirens were blaring all around me as I drove towards the Benson's mansion, I was positive that Susan's game was over, and I was much more calm and relaxed as I drove into the residence full of police men. I came down hastily and rushed towards the had but the same DPO I had threatened earlier stopped me.

"Ma'am you can't go further, this is a crime scene." He said with an expression I couldn't fathom.

"What do you mean crime scene?, my grandfather and baby is in there, they might be in danger and you're standing idly here, I wasn't joking earlier you know. Let me in before something worse happens." I was already yelling and fighting my way in, I got in eventually and stood transfixed to the ground.

****

Everywhere was scattered, and there were stains on the wall, blood stains.... There were splashes on grandpa's favorite chair, splashes on the staircase and then a pool of blood at a place not far from my feet. Then I saw my grandfather, the only family I could call my own..... He was wearing the woolen sweater I had knitted with so much love in the final months of my pregnancy.....Dead, his eyes was open and lifeless, his hand.....his hand was a few feet away from his body and his tongue hung out limply from his mouth. The last thing I remembered was someone screaming 'Papa' from afar, I couldn't tell who it was as I slipped out of consciousness.
