Dear Mitchie Ann, My Loveskie:

Scripture Readings:

2 Corinthians 5:1-6:2 New International Version (NIV)Awaiting the New Body

5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from G.o.d, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. 4 For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now the one who has fas.h.i.+oned us for this very purpose is G.o.d, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

6 Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. 7 For we live by faith, not by sight.8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

11 Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. What we are is plain to G.o.d, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.12 We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.13 If we are "out of our mind," as some say, it is for G.o.d; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[] The old has gone, the new is here!18 All this is from G.o.d, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that G.o.d was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's amba.s.sadors, as though G.o.d were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to G.o.d.21 G.o.d made him who had no sin to be sin[] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of G.o.d.

6 As G.o.d's co-workers we urge you not to receive G.o.d's grace in vain.2 For he says,

"In the time of my favor I heard you,

and in the day of salvation I helped you."[]

I tell you, now is the time of G.o.d's favor, now is the day of salvation

Question and Answer:

1. According to Paul what will happen when we leave our earthly bodies? (5:1-3)

Answer:

5 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from G.o.d, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling,3 because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked.

2. Explain in your own words the verses 4-5?

Answer:

4 Indeed, we groan while we are in this tent, burdened as we are, because we do not want to be unclothed but clothed, so that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 And the One who prepared us for this very purpose is G.o.d, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.

- Explanation:

While living in our temporary houses or dwellings, we are burdened with our sufferings physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We wanted to cover ourselves because we are all grieving with our miseries caused by other people around us. We are feeling like we are being swallowed up by life. G.o.d, the One who is All-Powerful and All-Knowing, who gave us the Holy Spirit as His is initiative gift or grace for us. For He would be dwelling with us.

3. How does a true Christian lives? (verses 5:7-9)

Answer:

7 For we walk by faith, not by sight, 8 and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord. 9 Therefore, whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to be pleasing to Him.

4. What kind of "ministry" did G.o.d gives us? (Verses 5:18-19)

Answer:

18 Everything is from G.o.d, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:19 That is, in Christ, G.o.d was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespa.s.ses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.

5. What does the "ministry" do? ( verses 5:20)

Answer:

20 Therefore, we are amba.s.sadors for Christ, certain that G.o.d is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to G.o.d."

6. As minister of reconciliation, what are we called and why? (verses 5:20-21)

Answer:

20 Therefore, we are amba.s.sadors for Christ, certain that G.o.d is appealing through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, "Be reconciled to G.o.d." 21 He made the One who did not know sin to be sin[]for us, so that we might become the righteousness of G.o.d in Him.

7. What verse made an impact to you today?

Answer:

I guess it is the verses 4-5. I believe G.o.d is walking with us. First, he gives us the Holy Spirit by grace and mercy. The Holy Spirit is one of the Three Persons of G.o.d. And then, we are amba.s.sadors for Christ because Jesus Christ pleaded to the G.o.d the Father on our behalf. We should be reconciled with G.o.d every time we sinned. Because G.o.d is the one who did not know sin to be sin and He is All-Righteous.
