292 We're On This Together

"I've overheard your parents talking about your fixed marriage agreement with Tan Ja Nin during your birthday party. I was surprised to know that there was an existing agreement between your parents and Tan Ja Nin's. I thought, I came between you and her..." She looked at Yan Mor Tee and a pain crossed his handsome face.

"They were discussing the repercussion if they going to cancel the agreement between your Dad and Master Tan. If they going to cancel the agreement, the friends.h.i.+p between your father and Master Tan will be compromised and your businesses will be going on a brink of closure. I was just then afraid that if you lost everything that you have since childhood, you will be having a hardtime to face it. I know how hard it could be being a poor...and I don't want you to experience it..." a tears fell onto Song Dei Si face because the fear that she felt before has resurfaced again.

Yan Mor Tee looked at his crying wife and could not help but find her so amusing "So you rather hurt yourself and sacrifice for my own good?! I never found someone as silly as you...!" He chided her.

"Yes, I was stupid back then maybe because...." she choked on her words and could not continue.

"You love me too much?" Yan Mor Tee asked.

Song Dei Si nodded. She closed her eyes because she could not bear the pain that she saw on her husband's face.

"But was your sacrifice worth it?" Yan Mor Tee asked her again. "I guess not! Because my parents has already chosen to give my happiness over material things that they could give me the day before you broke up with me..."

Song Dei Si bit her lips.

"My parents both agreed to support my happiness over my dad's friends.h.i.+p with Uncle Jingming and weren't afraid of any financial loss that we may encounter because the only matter for them was to give my happiness and they knew that I could only be happy with you..."

"I was stupid..." Song Dei Si said in between sob. Now she realized why Madam Yan hated her so much. All their sacrifices have gone to waste because of her stupidity. They have chosen her over Tan Ja Nin but what have she done? She broke up with him and leave him on his family's most trying times. She broke Yan Mor Tee's heart. Just when she thought that she made a novel sarcifice for him...

"I owe your parents an apology for hurting you...and most especially you. I'm sorry for being stupid for making decision by myself. If I have just talked to you about it, we haven't suffered like we did after we broke up." She said.

Yan Mor Tee held her face and was aching inside to see her crying at that moment. "Please don't be stupid next time. Don't make decision without talking to me first. We're on this together. You can't just decide for yourself...." He said and kissed her tears.

"Uhm." She said.

"Don't cry anymore. Stop crying now please..." Yan Mor Tee said. He really can't bear to see her tears.

"Do you still love despite being stupid?" Song Dei Si asked her trying to stop her tears.

Yan Mor Tee chuckled and pulled her to his embrace. "What can I do? You bewitched me." He said and kiss her forehead. "I just need to accept that it was my fate that I married such a stupid wife." He said teasingly.

Song Dei Si pouted "How unlucky..."

She wasn't able to complete her sentence because Yan Mor Tee has sealed her lips with a kiss.

"You have to compensate me for the loss time we had since you broke up with me...You owe me a lot.." Yan Mor Tee said in a hoa.r.s.e voice.

"I'm willing to pay..." Song Dei Si smiled and touched his thin lips. "With interest." She chuckled.

Yan Mor Tee curled up his lips and pulled the quilt to cover them. "Okay, I'll start collecting now!"

He kissed her pa.s.sionately under the cover.

.....

Song Dei Si opened her eyes and a ray of sunlight from the window came flas.h.i.+ng through her eyes. She covered her eyes and opened it again when she realized that the sun was up. She looked for Yan Mor Tee and found out that he was no longer at the room. She s.h.i.+fted her gaze at the wall clock and was stunned when she saw that it was already 9:45AM.

"Argh!"

Why didn't she wake up at 5AM? Did she forget to switch the alarm clock? But realized she automatically set it everyday during weekdays. So she was never woke up by the alarm clock? Was she that exhausted from last night that she had gone into a deep sleep?

She smiled when she remembered the intense lovemaking that she had with her husband last night. He made her really exhausted that she almost could not get herself up from the bed.

She sat on the bed and reached out for her cellphone at the bedside table to call her husband. He might already be in the office and she was quite disappointed that she wasn't able to prepare his breakfast. His phone was ringing but he never picked it up.

He might be in a meeting. She thought and would just send him a message. She was composing her message when suddenly the door on their bedroom swung open and a towering figure went it.

She was surprised to see Yan Mor Tee holding a breakfast tray table. "You didn't go to the office?" She asked.

Yan Mor Tee smiled at her and nodded! "I'm glad that you're finally awake." He said and put the breakfast tray table at the bed sat at the edge facing Song Dei Si "I prepared a breakfast for you..."

Song Dei Si looked at Yan Mor Tee in disbelief. "Are you sure you're the one who prepared this?"

"Yes, I cooked everything..."

Song Dei Si looked at the food at the tray and was stunned when she saw that it looks enticingly delicious. He had prepared a mushroom soup for her with yang chow fried rice with steamed dumplings.

"I don't believe you cooked all this? Why does it look so enticingly good?" She asked as she could not believe that he was capable of cooking such a great good. She still remember the first time her husband cooked for her, he burnt the bread and the egg.

"Your hurting my inner chef self!" Yan Mor Tee sported a long face. "I woke up as early as 8AM to cooked all this."

Song Dei Si laughed "Okay, now I'm convinced, you've spent almost two hours in the kitchen just to prepare all this!" She said because all the menu in the tray can be cooked in a span of 30 minutes. How many burnt rice that he cooked before he could come up to these almost perfect looking yang chow?

"Of course because I have to make sure that I only prepare the best for my wifey."

"It looks enticing thou." She said and could not wait to try it especially when she started hearing her grumbling stomach.

Yan Mor Tee took a piece of dumpling "Ahhh" He ordered her to open her mouth. She did and Yan Mor Tee started feeding her.

She took the first bite and she was impressed. "Are you sure you didn't ask for our helpers a.s.sistance of cooking this?"

"I didn't." He haid and put his right hand in the air as if he was swearing.

"So how do you find it?" Yan Mor Tee asked. He was excited to know his wife's verdict.

"It tasted good."

Yan Mor Tee curled up a smile. How it could be not? He tried several times before these dumplings becomes edible. He has wasted tenth of dumplings. He picked some fried rice. "Now try this..."

Song Dei Si opened her mouth and was impressed again.

"Woah...this tasted good too!" Song Dei Si exclaimed.

Yan Mor Tee grinned. "So can I pa.s.s as your a.s.sitant chef when you started opening your own restaurant?"

Song Dei Si laughed  and made an OK sign.

"I want to try your mushroom soup too! Feed me some." She said while acting coquesttishly.

Yan Mor Tee was to happy to oblige. He put some soup into the spoon and fed it to Song Dei Si mouth.

"This one needs more practice thou." Song Dei Si said honestly.

"Why?! It doesn't taste good?!" He asked.

"Try it for yourself."

Yan Mor Tee got some from the bowl and put it into his mouth. He almost spitted it out when he tasted it.

"How come it so salty?" He asked.

"How much salt do you put on it?!"

"1 tablespoon."

"Ppppttt" Song Dei Si laughed out loud "Are you trying to get a kidney stones?
