The singing is quite beautiful and I can even say that this voice is one of the best voices I have heard in my life . Besides the soothing melody of the voice emitting, it is also a bit enticing and difficult to resist . But since my resistance is acting up, I managed to hold in the urge to follow the source of the voice .

I did not leave the spot and just waited for the dryad to regain her consciousness . Unfortunately, it might take quite some time . The way the energies she siphoned from me is still in her body, I don't think she would wake up very soon . Therefore, I decided to camp out in here for a while .

I don't know if any of the guys out there are back on their feet . I am not worried about their knocked-up situation since they are strong . The law only one I seemed to be worried about is Moonlight . From all of the guys under the spell, she is the one who suffered the most and from the looks of it, she would be not taking her recovery from her trauma very soon .

I am so bored at the moment and I regretted the fact that I left my phone back home . If I ever knew that it would take me quite a lot of times being bored alone . Therefore, I decided to check my sling bag for any item I put in there that could help me alleviate the boredom I am feeling right now . However, the enticing voice once again act up .

My curiosity is almost killing me and if only Itazura is free at the moment, I would be really grateful to finally know the truth with my moving surveillance . . . ahem familiar .

Due to the insane quietness of the forest, the singing voice is resonating on the whole place . I had no idea what creature is it but I am quite sure that this singing individual is not a human being .

The attraction of the song makes me feel a bit dizzy . Whenever I get dizzy without any reason, I was always struck with illusion and the dizziness is the sign of that . That means that this song I am hearing right now holds an attraction magic that lures in people .

I almost can't hold on when I notice the dryad seems to be waking up . Her eyelids are opening slowly and soon she was fully awake . When she caught sight of me, she quickly hissed in agitation at me . She wanted to move but realized that her whole body is tied up by a tight rope .

"Stop struggling . It would only hurt more if you keep on struggling on the rope, " I said to the dryad .

The dryad glares at me and continues to struggle . I sighed and crouch in front of her and furrowed my eyebrows to this girl .

"Why are you attacking me out of nowhere? What do you want?!"

I thought that this dryad is incapable of speech but she started speaking when I least expected it .

"You human never knows what I need! Just let me go!"

"So that you can start a.s.saulting me again? Ha! In your dreams!"

The dryad fell silent . She tried to control some vines but before she can fully control it, I tightened the rope on her body by using telekinesis .

"Gah!"

"If you tell me what I need, I would be lessening the knot on your bindings but if not, this will just continue to get tighter . "

The rope tightens as I continue to control it . The expression of the dryad is writhing in pain as the rope continues to tighten .

"Alright . . . Alright . . . Just lessen the tighten . . . please!"

Since she said that, I started to lessen the bindings on her body but I did not free her yet . She groaned a bit before she looked at me with a serious face .

"So, what do you want to ask?"

 "Good, you are now more cooperative . Now answer this but I don't like lies . If you do, I would be tightening the rope again . I can detect lies so don't bother telling one on me .

" Y-yeah . . . "

"Alright, here is my question, are you the one causing the illusions in this area? Are you the one who caused my friends to be illusion driven people?"

"Yes . . . Gah!" I quickly tighten the rope on her body .

"Unfortunately that is a lie . I am not joking when I said that I would tighten the bindings once more if you told me a lie . "

The dryad dejectedly looked at me before she nodded in despair .

"No, I am not the one . I am just a mere servant of a mermaid in the swamp, " the dryad said .

"A mermaid?" I quickly imagined those girls that has a fishtail . But how come it is living in a swamp?

"Yes . A corrupted mermaid . She has illusion magic in her magic which made her dangerous . But since she doesn't want to do most of the work to lure food, she threatened me to destroy the forest I am living with and get corrupted by her dark powers . "

"So you decided to do what she wants in exchange that she leave the forest alone, am I right?"

The dryad lightly nodded .

"So why are you trying to suck my energy?"

The dryad looks down but she answered anyway .

"To bring victims to the mermaid, I had to suck a bit of their energy to cripple them down which would help me easily carry the victims to the mermaid's swamp . "

I frowned hearing this . "Did you partic.i.p.ate in eating the humans victimized?"

Hearing this, she quickly shook her head immediately .

"No! I would never do it! I don't eat humans at all! In fact, we dryads never need to eat food or anything! The mana in the air is enough sustenance for us!" The dryad explained .

I nodded at her answer . Somehow, the answer is not a lie . This ability is one of the things that I got after unsealing one of the mana circuits in my body . So that means, my true enemy is not the dryad but the mermaid that threatens the safety of my friends . If that is the case, I need to solve this on my own .
