"I am paying attention to everything you're doing.  I have been so far along." Nolan looked at her with a soft intensity.  He wanted her to feel the same way and feel like she could open up to him.  "I'm just trying to understand. You've said everything but that you don't feel the same for me.  You want to protect me and you're changing the methods as to how."

Wu's eyes softened as her defenses melted away as she finally relented.  She opened her arms and enveloped Nolan into the warmth of her embrace. She touched the tip of his nose, before tracing his cheekbones with a soft exhale.  He closed his eyes while she did this. He couldn't believe that she was touching him. When her fingers brushed against his mouth, he could have sworn that his heart skipped a beat in his chest.  Wu noticed this and pulled back a little bit. "You know when I'm around you, I always see you and then think how nice it is that G.o.d made men this way. You always make me want to become an artist because of how you make everything around you seem more alive.  I always wonder if it is because I am stuck looking at bodies all day because of my job." Janna blushed as she tried to continue. "I can't say why I want to do this type of thing, but it makes me feel different in a way that I've never felt before. If I'm honest with you, I think that you bring this new difference out in me.  It's a new feeling in me to like someone this much. I don't know if I can reciprocate it as love the same way that you say, but it's coming to that."

Nolan couldn't believe his ears.  He waited before grinning hugely that the most beautiful woman of his aquaintance could feel so.  He laughed softly before adding. "Now that we know that the affection is mutual, shall we go celebrate.  I feel like throwing a party. Let's go do something crazy."

As a change of pace, Janna nodded.  In response, Nolan held her to his body tightly so she could feel his heart beating rapidly through his clothes.  He was not as built as other men she knew, but still solid and safe. Their silence held for a moment as neither could believe the current turn of events.  Janna touched Nolan's dace softly as she spoke. "You are such a romantic one hidden away in all of that fiery personality. You know I considered myself to be a leftover woman until you approached me.  I thought constantly that it was just too good to be true to have someone like you want me. I had my suspicions but I just ignored them. My romance skills have not been used in a long time. But you know when you found me all the way outside of New York City, I couldn't believe that you would want someone like me operating on someone you love so much.  They call me a witch for a reason you know, I'm not exactly personable. But it was so cute that you didn't want ot give up. I just wanted to keep you here forever because I knew that you were very loyal and I've never met anyone who is like that. It was really inspiring to see for me and others. I was jealous that your sister had family who was so devoted to her.  I was worried that if I didn't do a good job that you wouldn't be the same afterwards."

Devoted?  Cute? Loyal?  It was strange that these were things that no one else had seen in him.  But, now that he had heard them from the mouth of the woman he had been chasing, he decided that although it was a bit strange he didn't mind her saying so.  The words did fit him well, he decided. "I'll always stay the same when it comes to you. I enjoy medical work immensely and seeing you work and being satisfied by it is its own reward.  I really hope that when you're done that you'll make some time for me too. I know that you work long hours and you'll need to recuperate, but you need to relax too. I want all of that relaxing time to be devoted to me."

Wu looked at him with a sparkle in her eyes as she looked at him fondly as she caressed his tousled hair.  "I think if I wanted to relax, I doubt that you would let me. I don't mind though as long as you promise to keep me company."

As she finished, she quickly angled his head down so it would meet hers.  Nolan was about to say something, but the words died in his throat as he saw her eyes flutter closed.  Very softly, her mouth brushed against his. The kiss started chaise, almost as if they were young lovers kissing for the first time, but quickly it morphed into a steamy kiss which was all of their pent up frustration.  Nolan started to feel lightheaded then his lips turned up as he remembered, he was of course kissing someone with a lot of experience.

Nolan would have happily continued kissing his woman for the better part of the day, but she reminded him with a gentle pat that she had a whole day's work to sit and chart.  Her hair was in disarray when she quickly ran her fingers through to straighted to ill effect. She calmed her breathing before speaking. "Let's have a celebration with just the two of us before we go to the Wongs to tell them about the happy news.  It's a bit sad, but I would prefer as this is my second marriage to not have my parents involved. They would be vehemently refused to me marrying any American, but I don't care. They have no real understanding of why I am a doctor. They only care I'm not creating trouble for them, which you are an excellent trouble to have."
