He wrinkled his eyebrows as he looked at her curiously. "That's very interesting to know that you're more accomplished than I thought previously."

"Do you have your father's old doc.u.ments in the house? Maybe you could have someone from your office email you a copy of the death wishes?"Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.

"Yeah, I could do that pretty easy. I'll text my receptionist at the office to check dad's old papers to see if there is anything I missed and I'll have a look around here although I think Chou covered everything a couple months ago."

Ellie could see her face reflected in the mirror and looked at her unruly eyebrows. Dear G.o.d, she looked like she had been through h.e.l.l. She hadn't brushed her teeth or hair and she knew she probably smelled worse than she felt. It had been many days since she had even tried to put on her face or look nice. She counted off the tasks on her fingers. "Wait for me to shower, get dressed, brush my teeth, shampoo my hair, and put on makeup and eat a huge breakfast. Then, after all that, I'll take a peek at what you father left behind. If it's worse than I hope, I probably won't want to eat afterwards."

Henry nodded in agreement. "I'm sure even trying to read the stuff the old man tried to cram into his will make you want to throw up."

A whole team of nurses rushed into the room with a stretcher. All of them profusely apologized to Henry for their incompetence. Henry held up a hand as he directed their excuses to Michael who would be docking their pay accordingly. Ellie was helped into the stretcher with little ceremony before being rushed out.

A pair of nurses bowed to Henry before closing the door behind him. They both apologized again before leaving Henry alone in his room. The open door had let in an excited Madeline who had slept outside of the door when she had found out that Henry didn't want her to sleep in his bed tonight. He didn't want the dog to accidentally put weight on Ellie as her body as still quite fragile.

The dog jumped up to have a seat next to him as Henry looked outside. She was such a simple soul with straightforward wants and needs. He wished he could offer the same to Ellie, but his heart was torn.
