242 Impatience

Xie Wu was cold towards Xie Liu. Not even turning to see if Xie Liu could hang on or not. Instead. Xie Wu focused on the stage. He waited for the next names to be announced.

"Stage D! w.a.n.g Ling and Hao Yahui, step up to the stage and present us a dignified and honorable match." The word dignified and honorable was emphasized so that those who were about to fight would not repeat the earlier 'dishonorable' show Bai Xue and Xie Liu presented.

w.a.n.g Ling shook his head at this realization and asked Bai Xue to get off of him. Bai Xue reluctantly let go and when she did, she disappeared. Not even w.a.n.g Ling knows where she would go. It seems like the previous fight had taken a toll out of Bai Xue mentally.

As she left, w.a.n.g Ling sighed and got up the stage. He could go after her but now is not the time. She needs time to organize her mind and considering he does not know anything about the matter that is causing her to act like so, w.a.n.g Ling did not want to pry too much into it.

[She can say it to me later, she needs time.] w.a.n.g Ling stepped onto the stage with that thought. In front of him was an opponent he had failed to defeat, a new experience for the current him.

"Are you going to use your spear or are you going to go with your sword?" asked Hao Yahui with a smirk on her face.

w.a.n.g Ling only responded with a weird smile and did not say anything. It was clear that something was clouding his mind. He brought out the bow he was using before and then the spear.

He did not exchange any pleasantries to Hao Yahui and did not even bother doing something doing so. He had expected that he would feel a little irritated at the fact that he will have to face an opponent he had already faced, but it seems like it was a different kind of feeling.

He was feeling impatient. The impatience he was feeling was reaching its peak, "I need to finish this quickly." he mumbled as his mind instantly heightened and his reactions began to become more and more active. It was a state that he had been in for far too many times.

A feeling when everything would slow down as his perception of everything becomes clearer. w.a.n.g Ling begins entering his zone, but he sealed off his killing intent and bloodl.u.s.t.

Hao Yahui nonetheless felt danger coming from w.a.n.g Ling, "He's going to take it seriously now." Was the thought she had after feeling w.a.n.g Ling's intentions.

"They said that you were a master of the sword, but who would have thought that I will feel more threatened by you when you hold those two weapons. What irony is that? Tell me the truth, you main in spear arts don't you?"

w.a.n.g Ling shook his head, "I learned the sword and not the spear, the spear is nothing but a secondary weapon for me and as for why you are threatened it is simply because I don't plan on killing you."

What a thing to say, Hao Yahui actually felt that every word that flowed out of his mouth was true, "Are you telling me you are ready to face me with all you have?"

"I am saying I will defeat you. Taking you on seriously is a different matter." Hao Yahui was struck speechless by his words. However, she quickly regained herself and she formed a wide grin on her face, "That hurt my pride a little."

At this moment, w.a.n.g Ling held the spear with the intent to defeat and not to kill. The subtle difference in thoughts but his intent was completely different. For him to use a spear does not mean he was weaker. It only means his capability to effectively kill his opponent would be reduced.

The proctor noticed their conversation to have ended and announced the fight to start.

Hao Yahui was the one who first made the first move. She dashed forward and attacked with her spear. She drew an arc, but w.a.n.g Ling was calm and his body reacted to what he managed to see.

He turned to the side and raised his spear. The spear traveled through the air and formed a distinct line. It was vertical and it was fast, too fast that even Hao Yahui only managed to barely dodge it.

w.a.n.g Ling looked at his hands and then moved the spear a couple of times before saying, "My killing intent is leaking." He concluded that his emotions were unstable, something had caused him to fall into the unstable state of mind that it made him draw his killing intent with him realizing it.

He circulated his angelic qi to calm his mind and heart before looking at Hao Yahui after feeling better again. She was frozen, waiting for him to make a move. She became docile after the last move w.a.n.g Ling had made.

[She is taken aback. That is good.] w.a.n.g Ling did not move from his position and took the bow hanging on the side. He drew an arc as he pulled the bowstring and fired a shot at her, "Heaven's Wrath."

A devastating move to start an early stage fight. But it only had a lot of power and was too linear making it easily avoidable. Hao Yahui raised her head and left after images as she moved like a feather.

She drew two different arcs before letting an all-out hit towards w.a.n.g Ling. Her hair began turning red and her strength increased. Everything about her began to change that her aura was now different.

w.a.n.g Ling saw this and could tell that he had to dodge the upcoming spear. But he chose to remain where he was standing to end this whole thing.

Him standing still caught Hao Yahui by surprise but she still did what she had to do and had her spear go at full power. But as she was nearing, w.a.n.g Ling pulled the bowstring and shot another arrow at Hao Yahui at point-blank range.

Three golden arrows spread out like fireworks and enclosed Hao Yahui inside. The arrows all rushed to her back with the single-intention of wanting to incapacitate her.

"I know what you're planning. But do you think I care? Screw you!" Hao Yahui let out a powerful shrieked and felt the three arrows pierce her left leg. It was painful, but she managed to tough it out and thrust her spear forward.

It was a powerful thrust that could decimate a portion of a forest.

However… it only managed to graze w.a.n.g Ling. She had lost her proper footing, therefore, altering the course of the attack.

"Do you think I didn't plan ahead?" w.a.n.g Ling clenched his fist and gathered his qi. Both angelic qi and h.e.l.lish qi flowed in his meridians at the same time in harmony that it became one power.

"This is the end." He threw a punch forward that could pulverize a hill and with a large shout, Hao Yahui's body was sent flying.

She flew across the stage and only after reaching the edge of the stage did she stopped. It was w.a.n.g Ling who won.

And shortly after that, the next match was announced. It was Feng Wuhan against Xie Wu and as for its results, it left everyone's mouth agape. After all, it was Feng Wuhan bleeding on the floor with her soul on the verge of crossing over.
