The Imperial Army is marching to Sienna with a whopping 300,000 troops. They are committed to end the war in a swift by capturing Sienna. But before they come to Sienna, they are besieging the fortress of Rennaiss first.

The fortress of Renaiss is a military fortress built by Summerwyn to halt any future imperial advance into Summerwyn. The fortress is a star fort, design to defend against artillery attacks. it is made by sophisticated engineering technology. The local garrison stationed in the fortress is 5,000 troops.

As the imperial army marches, they finally crossed the Imperial-Summerwyn border. They, had start their march to Renaiss. Along the way, they plundered and looted villages to gain supplies.

They slowly march in the plains of the kingdom, about 2 days later. They reached Renaiss, they then built a camp outside the woods and started to plan their a.s.sault on the fortress. The garrison could clearly see the imperial army from he distance and they proceeded to report the imperial advance into Sienna. Reinforcements will arrive to the fortress by 5 days, until then they should hold and halt the imperial advance.

The General of the imperial army, Clause is a fanatic and loyal to the Empire. Willing to die for the name of the empire, he is committed to capture this fortress for the name of the empire. And, while they're in the middle of the general planning. One of the guards entered the camp, with a very familiar face. It was Francis, a pro-imperial n.o.ble in Summerwyn. The leader of the Pro-Imperial Faction is now in the camp, along with his followers. They are willing to cooperate with the empire and betray the king.

The Imperial Staff is delighted with this, and so decided to a.s.sault the fortress in midnight the next day. Imperial wyverns began to appear in the skies, but since it is midnight. The fortress could not see the wyvern. They remain undetected while scouting the area, meanwhile a total of 50,000 troops appears in front of the fortress, 50,000 Imperial troops had headed the first attack on the fortress. Siege artillery begins to appear in the battlefield, numerous siege artillery had started firing upon the walls of the fort. But it proved to be ineffective because of the fort's sophisticated shape. The fort was heavily designed to protect from artillery fire. The 40,000 infantry had decided to march to the front to attempt to use the ladders and climb the wall. As they march to the wall. Artillery fire from the walls fired on them and they we're put down one by one, Until the number of infantry was reduced to 30,000. The mages had then came over and cast small fireb.a.l.l.s into the fort. mages casted fireb.a.l.l.s one by one, but the garrison had prevented their attack. The Summerwyn mages casted anti-fire s.h.i.+eld onto the their allies preventing them to cause damage on the artillery. Realizing the battle is not going to their favor, Clause issued the order of withdrawal to their camp. The imperial army had then decided to withdrew to their camp until they come up with a more effective solution to capture the fort.

Clause decided to talk with Francis, he came over and asked what was the fort's weakness and how can they capture it. In which Francis replied with a grin, "Leave it to me and i'll do the work".

Clause did not knew what he was going to do and asked how is he going to do it. Francis then told him to follow his instructions and they would be able to capture the fort at ease.

Clause woke up in his tent, and went to the plan room to discuss today's battle. They are going to follow Francis' instructions and plan. The staff we're questioning Francis motives and intentions, but Clause has his trust on him. a.s.suring them they will never be betrayed by him. a number of 270,000 troops had came from the camp. The imperial army is launching an all-out attack to the fort, as the imperial army are marching, the imperial anthem is being sung to boost imperial morale. carrying the imperial flag with great pride, the soldiers are all prepare to fight even if it costs their lives, their life is the empire and the empire lives within them. Marching with great pride and modesty, they are determined that the empire would rule the continent.

The imperial army marched until they could see the fortress in sight, they army splitted into 4 groups and headed into many directions. the spread out was intended to encircle the entirety of the fortress, with 50,000 each from all directions of the fortress, the south was led by Clause with a force of 120,000. 200 siege guns simultaneously fired onto the wall, causing much damage. While all forces we're doing simultaneous attacks in every direction. the infantry would ran to the walls carrying ladders so they can hopefully climb the wall. The defenders we're stunned and the muskets shoot at them and the mages casting attack spells on them. The fort's bastion was attacked by the infantry and climbed all the way up using their ladders. The defenders we're ma.s.sively overwhelmed by the huge number of infantry and the bastions in the south began to fall one by one. As the southern bastions fell, the infantry infiltrated the fort and destroyed the artillery on the fort one by one. The defender's we're shocked at the speed of the southern group and the fort immediately fell by sunset. Renaiss fell and Sienna received the news of the capture hours later, the British Army was alarmed and had then sent the RAF to Sienna.

Siennese officials are alarmed and nervous in the war situation. the RAF immediately arrived a day later in the temporary airbase built by the British army months ago. The Battle of Sienna begins.
