Other than the volley of arrows there were no other attacks. This moment felt almost as if it took forever to Bifano. To kill or not to kill?

Jola looked at Bifano almost laughingly, twisting his wrist. Tears gave off an intense noise.

Almost instantly, Bifano broke out into a cold sweat. Saleen had already come to less than ten meters away from him. At this distance, a grand swordmaster was a big threat to a mage.

He must be crazy, the two fellows besides Saleen were incredibly powerful. Jola was at least a silver grand swordmaster while Wild Bear’s powers were equally terrifying. He was almost like a human-shaped magic beast. If his attack failed, he would need to do it himself and he would need to face off with the two of them. If he retreated and extended their distance, Saleen would be able to attack him with his magic calmly.

Bifano gave a dry laugh and made an inviting gesture. Saleen glared at him coldly before walking calmly back to Lex’s magic chariot. He intentionally rubbed shoulders with Bifano as Jola whispered in Bifano’s ear, “Small duke, why haven’t you taken action?”

This sentence had two meanings as Bifano retreated sternly, not saying a word. Seeing Saleen going into the magic chariot. He instructed his soldiers, “Second regiment, prepare to enter!”

The second regiment were heavy infantry. Even though t.i.tan’s heavy infantry was not as good as the Qin Empire’s, their equipment must have weighed over thirty kilograms. The soldiers were wrapped in a chain lock armor. Holding heavy s.h.i.+elds, their weapons were instead double-sided blades that were slightly shorter than a cross spear.

Among the one-thousand people in the regiment, there were six-hundred heavy infantry troops. They were now split into three groups. They formed a small phalanx, preparing to enter the temple. Their attacking powers were deadly and the double-sided blade was incredibly heavy with a row of saw teeth at the center. Even a mage would be unlucky to be surrounded by them.

Bifano’s five-thousand strong elite were the capital of the Agares family. Seeing the six-hundred heavy infantry troops gathering together and entering the black hole, he felt the fierce aura emanating from them.

Only when one had killed would there be such a fierce aura. t.i.tan had always been peaceful. When the soldiers of the Stone Statue Castle met with an attack, they were chaotic. As for Bifano’s soldiers, they actually had powerful combat experiences. This was the result of the secret training by the Agares family. Every year, t.i.tan would buy a group of prisoners on death row or slaves, to be ma.s.sacred by their private soldiers.

The prisoners and slaves would also be given weapons, if they were to survive in the brawl, they would regain their freedom. Only by using such brutal methods the private soldiers of the Agares family have such powerful combat abilities. Soldiers that had not gone on any battlefield would always be new soldiers.

Saleen looked back at Lex and realized she was not bothered by Bifano’s soldiers at all. The soldiers from her swordsman camp had undergone bloodbaths too and were not any weaker than Bifano’s soldiers. The Qin Empire had been going on expeditions in the recent two years, the black mages had caused trouble, Loulan Duchy had been invaded, and Lianyun City had fallen into enemies’ hands. They did not cause the downfall of the Qin Empire, but instead toughened up the powers of the wealthy in the Qin Empire.

Sika who had been keeping silent finally opened her mouth, she silently took over the Ring of Gifts that Saleen pa.s.sed to her and said, “Viscountess, earlier on, Bifano wanted to kill Saleen.

The conversation in the magic chariot was blocked off to anyone outside. Lex looked at Sika and rubbed her finger, saying a little difficulty, “It isn’t good for us if we take action now.”

“I do not care about that, he wants to harm Saleen, he needs to die.” Sika’s words did not leave any room for discussion.

Lex furrowed her brow, she could understand Sika’s feelings, however, Bifano now had over five-hundred soldiers. If they killed him, the consequences would be disastrous.

Nailisi shot a look at Sika before saying, “Sister Sika, do not worry, it is good for me if we keep him.”

Sika kept silent, her hand leaving her boomerang. Nailisi had more ideas than her and she definitely was not lying. Her relations.h.i.+p with Nailisi was much closer than her relations.h.i.+p with Lex.

In actual fact, the black hole was just a s.p.a.ce tunnel. Both sides were on the same dimension and they were not far, it was unusually stable. Saleen and Lex both knew that the temple was not near their location and could be hundreds of miles away, connected by this tunnel.

If they could have such skills, it would be much more useful than a teleportation portal. The teleportation portal could only bring a few people with it at once and it used up a tremendous amount of energy. So long as this s.p.a.ce tunnel was not across dimensions, the amount of energy used up could be ignored.

Even the Sacred Holy See did not have such means. Saleen and Lex naturally did not ask for much. So long as they could find the main temple and get the seeds from the four divine trees, they would have the power to go against the Holy See.

The dark tunnel was only a mile long and at the end of the tunnel was a bunch of magic machines that had been abandoned. These magic machines were incredibly simple and only needed a magic disciple to control them. Hundreds of arrow tubes were aimed at the tunnel, all the arrows had been shot out earlier. The first heavy infantry officer was a little suspicious, he had no idea how the arrows from these arrow tubes could have shot over a mile. He was in no mood to investigate and waving his hand, forty soldiers immediately came forward and used the double-sided blade in their hands to destroy the magic machineries.

The black ground was inscribed with a mysterious magic pattern, at the front was a huge door that was over thirty meters tall. No one was waiting in ambush; the tunnel was too long and the magic machines that Lex had prepared was not even used. The pink army was hiding inside the temple and would not show themselves no matter what.

If the pink army rushed out of the temple to fight, once they got out of the tunnel, they would be burned to death by the fire wasps.

The two giant magic machines moved slowly. Entering the mile-long tunnel and pa.s.sing through it, they reached the outside of the temple door. The soldiers repositioned the two magic machines properly, aiming at the door.

The soldiers outside the tunnel did not dare slack off either. Besides the heavy cavalry troops resting under their horses, taking turns to put on their heavy armor, the light cavalry had been patrolling nearby. The mages had also released the limited flying puppets, setting hundreds of magic alarms.

The attack from within the temple was not scary. The worst was if the enemy attacked from both inside and outside, there would then be a heavy death and injured toll.

Saleen was relaxed on the other hands. Lex and Bifano’s agreement did not include helping him destroy the pink army. In actual fact, the s.p.a.ce within the temple was incredibly wide and was suitable for mages to fight. The problem was that Lex did not want her mages to take the risk, it was best to avoid such unnecessary dangers.

Bifano personally led his soldiers into the tunnel, the two magic chariots waited outside the tunnel. Lex’s ten swordmasters, two black metal grand swordmasters, Wild Bear, and Jola waited beside the magic chariot and took a break.

The soldiers in charge of security looked at Lex’s swordmasters in envy, the magic armor they were wearing was of the highest grade. In theory Saleen could already create high-grade magic equipment. These magic armors were processed from the outer sh.e.l.l of magic beasts and the inside was a soft armor made from metal silk. They were light yet strong at the same time.

The swordsmen sat on the floor, taking out their grinding stones, they started to sharpen their weapons. Besides the weapons that Saleen had processed for them, the equipment that they had brought along with them was not magic equipment and needed to be maintained.

Buzz…

A vibrating noise filled the air and from afar, a black patch of poisonous insects flew towards the tunnel. A blinding light appeared from one of the magic chariot and a patch of fire started dancing in the air, burning away the poisonous insects.

Bifano’s soldiers tried their hardest to hold back their vomit. They had already brought with them medicine to chase the poisonous insects away and they must definitely belong to the magic beast grade of poisonous insects. Luckily there were mages around…

At the front of the door of the temple, four combat puppets were carrying a huge metal hammer and charging towards the door of the temple under the command of the magic disciples.

Boom!

The huge metal hammer had sunken in while the combat puppets were flung away. There was only a shallow mark on the door of the Myers Temple.

Bifano walked about nervously, the interior structure of this temple was entirely different from the ones he had gone to before. This was something he had never imagined. A large door was in his way and if he could not open it, a.s.sembling five-thousand soldiers would have been a waste entirely.

Should he go back? That was obviously not an option. Fire Dance City could not be defended entirely and if they did not get this temple, his personal bodyguard would be defeated by the Cloudflow Empire sooner or later.

After four huge metal hammers weighing over two tons had been destroyed, there were still no signs of the temple door being damaged. If this continued on. The soldiers’ morale would completely slack off.

Magic was completely ineffective against the door. The few mages’ magic scrolls could not be opened there. Even though magic could be released, it would be hard to ama.s.s the elements and they would not be stable. After going at it for over an hour, the door still had no signs of opening.

“Master, should I go ask the Viscountess?” A soldier whispered into Bifano’s ear.

Bifano nodded his head in defeat, he had long wanted to go, but he was holding on to a sliver of hope. He was not willing to entrust this to her. Lex was not his to command and asking her for help meant that he would need to pay the same price.

Bifano could not bear to do so, most of the warehouse in the cities of t.i.tan Duchy had not been wiped clean in time and Cloudflow had sent out their people too quickly. The speed at which the Tanggulasi Empire had been invaded had surpa.s.sed his imagination and he might not be worth more than Lex now.

Outside the tunnel, Lex had started to play games with Saleen out of boredom. Just like they were in G.o.d’s h.e.l.l, they started releasing grade-0 and grade-1 magic and used another spell to dispel them. After not playing it for such a long time, they still had chemistry and were even more skilled than before.

The other two female mages in the chariot were amazed at this, using magic to dispel magic was something they had only read about in books. They had never seen it in real life before. As grade-4 grand mages, they knew how hard it was. Lex and Saleen both used instantaneous magic, no matter how large the s.p.a.ce in the chariot was, they could not be more than five meters apart. Narnia’s heart had gone up her throat, afraid that Saleen or Lex would hurt someone with any mistake.

“Master Saleen, Bifano has come out.” Jola reminded softly from outside the chariot.

“Come out? Seems like he is in some trouble. Lex, this is a good chance.” Saleen laughed wickedly. He knew that Bifano definitely needed Lex’s help and this was the perfect opportunity for a daylight robbery.
