Chapter 1534: Centennial Chaos (Part 1)

The question was not if it was the G.o.ds being useless or magic being useless. The one with the higher mastery of rules would emerge as the victory. The Lord of Glory was being suppressed by the Tree of Element, preventing him from moving any muscle in his body.

Yellow light flashed beneath Saleen’s feet, allowing him to move right in front of the Lord of Glory with just a single step. He smiled and asked, “were you thinking that I would have needed a long time to kill you?”

The third eye on his forehead opened all of a sudden without bothering to wait for the Lord of Glory’s answer, allowing him to see the weakness of the G.o.d’s body and where the G.o.d’s divine persona was hidden.

The Lord of Glory’s body was as vast as a region of stars. It was a projection of a huge divine kingdom. In truth, the Lord of Glory was indeed able to put the divine kingdom away into his body. However, given the sheer size of his divine kingdom at present, putting it away would be rather difficult.

Saleen’s Signet of Silence spun in the eye for a bit. The advantage of superior level allowed him to pin-point the location of the G.o.d’s divine persona, as well as the G.o.d’s weakness. The divine persona was running in a frenzy all over the Lord of Glory’s body. After it was shrouded by the Signet of Silence’s power, it was immediately fixed in a certain location. Saleen’s Crystal Finger punched through the Lord of Glory’s body and stabbed onto the divine persona.

A level 15 divine persona was over 100 times more resilient than steel, but it crumbled in an instant before Saleen’s Crystal Finger.

Every single pore of the G.o.d’s body burst with intense light. With his divine persona broken, his body was unable to contain so much power, causing his level to drop quickly.

The G.o.d at the pinnacle of level 15 was reduced to level 14 with just one shot by Saleen.

Saleen did not pull his hand out just yet and twisted hard at the site instead. His hand was covered in thunder dragon armor, which was formed into a sharp knife that tore open the G.o.d’s body. Saleen then summoned the Lightning Moon and stuffed it into the G.o.d’s body.

Regardless of how resilient the Lord of Glory’s body was, there was no way he could withstand being ravaged by the Lightning Moon. Furthermore, with his divine persona broken and power suffering a significant drop, the s.p.a.ce within his body had shrunk tens of thousands of times. The Lord of Glory finally sensed that he was doomed for sure.

The Lightning Moon hovered in the G.o.d’s body. Countless lightning ravens shot out. At such a level, it was easy for him to control the lightning ravens. If it had been the thunder dragons, he would have only been able to control the 24 that he reared personally.

Thunder dragons summoned using the Lightning Moon would have resembled elemental creatures. Saleen had no control of them and would have only been able to let them fight on their own. Their might would have been more or less similar to that of the lightning ravens, but the drain would have been tens of times more severe.

Under Saleen’s control, the lightning ravens pounced on the broken divine persona fragments that had entirely lost functioning rules.

Saleen’s Crystal Finger shattered the Lord of Glory’s divine persona, splitting it into 180 pieces. Every single piece maintained their perfect structure, which meant that if the divine persona fragments evolved, the energy and rules contained would have allowed a level 14 demiG.o.d to become a true G.o.d.

One could only imagine just how many G.o.ds he had killed, just to create such an insane piece of divine persona.

“Spare me, mage, I’m willing to be your slave!” The Lord of Glory made the decision right there and then. He was able to feel that the fragments were being gathered by the lightning ravens, which were then brought back to the Lightning Moon.

If he lost all the fragments, he would truly be doomed.

Saleen had never seen a G.o.d who was so forthcoming before. The Lord of Glory did not bother negotiating and proposed to become Saleen’s slave right away. However, that decisiveness did not even manage to cause Saleen to hesitate for even a second.

More thunder hawks, electric snakes, and lightning ravens were unleashed from the Lightning Moon, destroying the G.o.dly body of the Lord of Glory. That G.o.d’s body was severely fragile to Saleen. However, the s.p.a.ce within was simply too vast, and breaking down everything within would take some time.

There was no way he could leave such a decisive G.o.d alive. If the Lord of Glory were able to recover, the first thing he would probably do would be to mobilize all of his powers to destroy Myers Mainland.

Saleen was determined to kill the Lord of Glory, and not give the G.o.d any chance at all to possibly survive.

The Lord of Glory looked at Saleen. His face took on a cold expression. “My doom shall be the beginning of darkness. If you kill a G.o.d that represents the power of light, then Myers Mainland will fall into eternal darkness.”

“In the mages’ perspective, dark element symbolizes eternity,” Saleen replied, letting the Lord of Glory understand that there was no way he could convince the mage before him.

“Then please keep my divine kingdom intact. Do not kill the believers. My divine persona has been completely broken and I will not be able to resurrect them.”

“Of course. I see no point in killing them if they do not resist me. I do have a G.o.d servant after all. You saw it yourself. It was heading for your temple. It will take over everything you own and become the lord of this divine kingdom.” Saleen went on to destroy the Lord of Glory’s hopes with every line he uttered.

Guffen’s roar alerted the angels within hundreds of kilometers radius. The angels charged at the divine tree that was over 2,000 meters tall, intending to cut down the divine tree and save their G.o.d.

However, being so close to the Tree of Element meant that the frost dragon’s magic and mental powers were practically inexhaustible. It hardly needed to fight the low level angels, as one dragon’s breath was able to kill scores of them.

As a high level dragon, its greatest concern was running out of magic power, as spells carried a terrifying drain with them, so much so that not even G.o.ds would have been able to afford such a drain. The dragons were a powerful race, but their drain was unimaginable as well.

As such, the Tree of Element became the best gift one could have given to a dragon.

“Mage, my death is now inevitable. A long night shall loom over Myers Mainland. You might be able to break the night someday, but that will be the day where I resurrect.”

The Lord of Glory hung his head low all of a sudden. He was dead.

Saleen felt a strange power leaving the Lord of Glory’s body. There was no way he could have even grasped it, let alone stop it. That power was hardly considered mighty, yet it was br.i.m.m.i.n.g with life.

He did not mind at all. It was a good thing that the Lord of Glory was finally dead. It was quite a pity, however, that the G.o.ddess of Myers’ power had actually been able to extend all the way into the divine kingdom and take control of the scroll.

The divine kingdom would be the gift Saleen gave to Dante, his servant G.o.d.

Just when Saleen intended to use the Tree of Element’s power to absorb more of the Lord of Glory’s residual power, the tree began to crack. The tall, majestic Tree of Element was actually beginning to collapse.

Saleen was exasperated. He knew that the G.o.ddess of Myers would not have been so generous. The Tree of Element was actually a spectral projection. Due to the power being provided being so ma.s.sive, so much so that it was able to suppress the power of such a huge divine kingdom, that Saleen had mistaken it to be a real tree.

He quickly summoned the Lightning Moon and let it hover right above his head. As for the Lord of Glory’s body, he still had use for it, so he threw it into his Ring of Cosmos.

Guffen roared and returned to his dragon form. Even without the Tree of Element, its dragon form would easily allow it to run over the angels.

Most of the angels’ levels were at level 10, with some at level 12. The powerful level 13 ones were near the divine mountain, and level 14 angels like Abyrus were few and far between in the divine kingdom.

Nailisi and the Winged Skull had nothing to do. It was not that the angels did not attack the two of them, but that Guffen’s form was simply too huge. With the Tree of Light’s projection still largely intact, no angel had been able to even get near.

Nailisi was not in the mood of fighting for angels with Guffen. All the doubles that Guffen killed had been yielded to her. All of the doubles were thrown inside the Purgatory of the Fallen. If angels were made out of them, then there would have been 60 fallen angels.

Nailisi knew that Dante was Saleen’s slave, so she had made plans for the divine kingdom.

Dante was a weird G.o.d who had three divine personas and was capable of acting as a supreme commander, mobilizing fallen angels to become the army of the divine kingdom. She found it amusing.

As for Abyrus, she a.s.sumed that the angel would end up dead.

However, contrary to her a.s.sumption, not only did Abyrus manage to survive, it had actually been able to get its hands on something that it had dreamed of in the divine mountain.

It was a piece of divine persona from the last G.o.d that the Lord of Glory killed, who possessed level 16 powers. The Lord of Glory had intended to use the piece of divine persona to learn level 16 rules in order to advance without a glitch.

The divine persona had instead been discovered by Abyrus, who swallowed it. Its body went out of control and returned to its fallen angel form.

Abyrus had been able to act so boldly because it knew what it meant to have the Lord of Glory leave the place with so many powerful doubles—the powerful master of that demon was here, and people who dared to come into the divine kingdom like that would at least have powers above level 16. Someone who had been able to make the Lord of Glory take them so seriously would probably be at level 17.

Abyrus had been right. While the levels of both Saleen and Guffen were unstable, they were nonetheless true level 17 beings. With the two of them working together, it was equal to a being with normal level 17 powers. The Lord of Glory would definitely take such a threat seriously.

The only thing that the Lord of Glory should not have done was touching that attribute-less cube.

It was a terrible outcome resulting from cognitive inertia. The power of another G.o.d was not able to stay hidden within a divine kingdom. While that had been correct, that attribute-less cube was able to even block the G.o.ddess from controlling that scroll within, so it would have definitely been able to fool the Lord of Glory’s senses.

He tore the cube apart, intending to acquire the power within. The G.o.ddess of Myers took that chance immediately and triggered the scroll, creating a projection of the Tree of Element, binding the Lord of Glory still.

Greed was an original sin, and that was the third tenet in the codex the Lord of Glory wrote for the believers on Myers Mainland.

Abyrus’ power grew in a frenzy after bursting through the shackles of Ultimate Shapes.h.i.+fting. It brandished the Sword of Glory without hesitation and cut down all the angels around it.

The puzzled angels were unable to resist and had to run. Abyrus did not give chase, coming to the rear of the divine mountain instead, where Fycro was being held.

Abyrus then freed Fycro from the pillar of light that Fycro was chained on. It then said, “that demon intends to use us. Do you want to resist?”

“Of course I do.” Burning pa.s.sion was seen in Fycro’s eyes. If Abyrus were familiar with Fycro’s personality, it would have been able to tell that Fycro was faking it. He would not have shown such intense emotions, even at the brink of death.

“Well then, follow me, and I shall grant you eternal glory.” Abyrus cast Healing on Fycro. Grey light was absorbed into Fycro’s body, allowing him to finally recover some of his powers, enabling him to keep up with Abyrus.
