The three head inquisitors moved forward the fourth head inquisitor. “We’ll take turns taming the golden dragon once we capture it. The beast belongs to the one who is able to tame it.”

The fifth head inquisitor added, “the one who acquired the dragon will be required to hand over two pieces of equipment found in this ruins.”

“Agreed. If there is no equipment deemed fit for our use, the one who acquired the golden dragon will be required to surrender two semi-G.o.dly items and 20 pieces of holy equipment,” the sixth head inquisitor continued.

“Alright, deal.” The fourth head inquisitor laughed within. He had the Book of Pathos with him, so taming a golden dragon was hardly a problem.

Giving up two semi-G.o.dly items was insignificant, for he would earn himself a very long lifespan after acquiring the golden dragon, which meant that he would secure his place as the first head inquisitor in the long run.

It would be worth it to give up a G.o.dly item for that dragon.

The group of forts were overrun and the golden dragon was only capable of taking on one punisher at a time. Nailisi had done her best demonstrating the power of the dragon to entice the three head inquisitors.

She did her best to tear off the limbs of the punisher and crush its head to mush. The heart was a difficult target, and Nailisi did not force herself to it. It would suffice to rob the punisher of its offensive capacity.

The rus.h.i.+ng red army flooded before the group of broken forts. Black Metal Grand Swordmasters, as the mighty ones in the army, carved the way open for the head inquisitors.

The three of them were even more pleased to see that golden dragon falling to the ground. They were afraid the dragon would simply fly into the city, as it would complicate things.

This darn place compels us to charge slowly just to cast any powerful divine spells. They needed to have their subordinates surround the dragon before they were able to take it down. They would have to waste powerful scrolls with them otherwise.

The scrolls were meant for dealing with danger when entering the ruins, and the three head inquisitors were reluctant to use any of them haphazardly. If the progress with excavation of the ruins was affected, the great head inquisitor would not let the matter slide easily.

Nailisi took to the ground and quickly dove behind a large turret, returning to her imp form. She took Grey Memory in her hand, before hesitating and taking the Sword of Rules in her left hand as well.

She felt a lot more secure with the two powerful weapons in hand. Saleen and the others also leapt from the city above. Saleen unleashed over a hundred ancient figures to attack the remaining punishers.

The metal spikes would grow quickly in a normal environment and serve as the punishers’ powerful supplementary weapons. However, in the environment they found themselves in, the divine spells of the punishers became very difficult to cast and the metal spikes became their main weapons.

The spikes, which were cut off by the figures wielding their halberds, needed more than ten minutes to regenerate6. The frequency of the attacks of the figures were too abnormally quick, which ended up having the punishers battered in no time.

It was a pity that their halberds were unable to cleave the punishers open.

The soldiers of the Tribunal, clad in crimson armor, stormed the forts, and found dead bodies everywhere within. The target of the soldiers were the ancient figures, who were retreating under Saleen’s command. The three head inquisitors had also appeared in the forts.

The magic cannons that were destroyed by the punishers lay in pieces.

The aura of the golden dragon disappeared? The three head inquisitors sensed something was off. The catapults at the city were unable to attack at such a range.

The 500 meter city wall made invasion extremely difficult, but it also made it just as difficult for the soldiers at the wall to come down and fight.

Six Blue Ice Maidens were unleashed, and borrowing water element generated by the elemental creatures, Saleen cast a misty cloud, enveloping the forts.

The head inquisitors cast Divine Protection at the same time. Ma.s.sive divine power was cast from a huge crystal ball in the sixth head inquisitor’s hand to provide energy for the Divine Protection spell.

Four divine crystals spun slowly within the crystal ball. Such a powerful piece of equipment provided protection for the three of them, with a magnitude as powerful as if they were outside.

Two powerful golden sword aura burst, covering Nailisi, and rushed at the fourth head inquisitor. Saleen and Lex turned their attention to the fifth and sixth head inquisitor, respectively.

Saleen’s side was completely unaffected by the mist, while all the soldiers and the head inquisitors needed divine spells from the holy masters to allow them to see beyond the mist.

The fourth head inquisitor smirked. He opened the yellow book in his hand and shouted gently, “purify!”

Yellow light shone on Nailisi, making her feel dizzy, and she suddenly felt a compelling urge to wors.h.i.+p the fourth head inquisitor.

“Nailisi!” Saleen shouted. His voice was infused with rumbling thunder, snapping Nailisi out of her dazed state. She saw a spear of light coming for her chest, and she swung the Sword of Rules in her left hand, cutting down the spear.

The six eyes in front of the Grey Memory in her right hand were opened, turning its gaze at the fourth head inquisitor.

The fourth head inquisitor felt as if he had been locked in place by some evil G.o.d, and his soul trembled. The spear shot right through the Divine Protection and went through his body.

The wound quickly closed up, but the intense pain did not go away.

The fourth head inquisitor knew that they had been set up. The enemy laid out a trap for them. The other two head inquisitors were busy tangling with the mages.

Two golden sword auras stabbed the area of protection provided by Divine Protection, tearing the s.h.i.+elding apart, and a spear was thrust inside the opening.

Pfft…

Nailisi’s spear went right through the fourth head inquisitor’s heart. Lights burst from his yellow book, making the lights seem red. The fourth head inquisitor surprisingly lived after being showered by that light. He struggled free of the Grey Memory and retreated backwards.

Nailisi was rendered extremely weak. She lashed out with the spear at full power, yet she failed to kill the enemy.

Jola and Sul took Nailisi from her left and right, retreating. She took the form of the Skeleton King, putting away her Grey Memory, intending to move forward with her Sword of Rules still.

Sika leapt from behind her and swung her staff, bringing the weapon on top of the fourth head inquisitor.

Pure red light burst from the yellow book in his hand and he took to the air. Sika paid it no heed. The spikes on the staff shot out without changing the trajectory of her attack, going straight for the fourth inquisitor’s head.

A sharp sound was heard from within the red light. Sika’s staff pierced through the light and landed on the head of the fourth head inquisitor, who was covered by Divine Protection.

The s.h.i.+eld broke and the head inquisitor’s head was nowhere to be seen.

Nailisi’s spear rendered the fourth head inquisitor incredibly sluggish. None of the powerful equipment he carried with him was usable. With the Divine Protection being cut open, it completely disappeared after suffering that last strike from Sika.

Saleen and Lex found themselves in danger. Two Heaven Angels appeared behind the fifth and sixth head inquisitors, swinging their Swords of Glory at them. Saleen and Lex hurriedly put up magic s.h.i.+elds, but their s.h.i.+elds were quickly shattered. A seven-colored beam of light glittered from Lex’s body, stopping the attack.

Saleen pointed with one finger. The Crystal Finger pierced the Sword of Glory and the fifth head inquisitor, whom he was fighting, cast Divine Bullet.

Jola and Sul rushed up to face the angels. Saleen summoned two Blue Ice Maidens to stand before him, but they were quickly taken out by the Divine Bullet and retreated back to the badge.

Countless needles shot from the sixth head inquisitor’s ball of light. Nailisi was pierced by the needles as soon as she cut off the fourth head inquisitor’s head and took away the yellow book. Her spirit form was very sensitive to divine light, and white smoke came out from her body.

Gusion was astute enough to wrap himself with the Dragon Slaughtering War Flag, preventing him from taking any damage. The two golden grand swordmasters were only able to unleash their sword aura to resist.

Energy overflowed from the huge crystal ball in the sixth head inquisitor’s hand without any signs of diminis.h.i.+ng. The needles kept being conjured and fired, and Saleen’s Water s.h.i.+eld, which he put up in a hurry, suffered damages.

Lex and Saleen were both startled by the fact that they were still able to use Divine Territory. Just what the h.e.l.l is that crystal ball!?

The two head inquisitors were more startled and angered than Saleen. The power of the equipment the fourth head inquisitor packed far exceeded theirs combined, yet he lost his head!

The woman that crushed the fourth head inquisitor’s head was seen swinging her staff, heading for the sixth inquisitor.

Sika was able to tell that the equipment the sixth head inquisitor packed was too powerful. If he was to be left alive, everyone there would die. The power unleashed by the crystal was equivalent to territory conjured by a level ten professional at full force.

Magic was completely nullified in such a territory and even the powers of the grand swordmasters could hardly be used. Nailisi writhed in pain on the ground, unable to change into other forms.

Sika was the only one unaffected. Her powers were still intact, and her weapon howled, as if the souls of demonic beast within were elated to be allowed to kill, acquiring more power.

The fourth head inquisitor died a rather unceremonious death. Nailisi had no way to defend against his Book of Pathos, but she shared senses with Saleen. Saleen shouted in a thunderous rumble when Nailisi was about to be converted to a believer, his powerful rules of lightning breaking the hold of the Book of Pathos’ spell.

The spear of light was originally something that could not be defended against by any other weapon, yet the Sword of Rules enabled her to cut it down.

Nailisi’s Grey Memory pierced the fourth head inquisitor’s heart. Although the wound was mended by the Book of Pathos, the fourth head inquisitor was unable to use any other equipment while suffering such a grievous injury. He had only been able to see Sika leaping at him, whacking his head to mush with her staff.

The synchronization in attacks made the fourth head inquisitor fall where he should not have. His Book of Pathos taken away by Nailisi.

Sika’s armor was able to fend off the attacks of the needles. She headed for the sixth head inquisitor, rendering him completely frightened, as his combat capacity was nowhere near that of the fifth.

The fifth head inquisitor took out a box from his s.p.a.ce equipment and opened it in haste. Twenty-four statues were packed closely within. The statues flew out and took the form of pitch-black angels, surrounding Sika.

The Angels of Repentance, created by the Tribunal using the sealed souls of mighty ones, had power that was twice of what the souls within had when they were alive.

Every use of the angels shortened their lifespans, but the fifth head inquisitor was at his wit’s end. If that ferocious woman were to be allowed to close in on the sixth head inquisitor, he would lose the help of the Divine Territory.
