As he thought about it, Grimm flew to the top of the Thousand-eyed Carcinus. He directed the crab to a relatively isolated hill a few hundred kilometers away from the Battle Command.

There wasn't anything out of the ordinary in the Surficial Tundra around. Grimm nodded his head.

Grimm blew a hole in the frozen mountain range with fireb.a.l.l.s. After knocking the stones with his Sabbatic Goat Staff, the high-frequency vibrations shattered the solid rocks into dust. A simple laboratory was thus complete.

Grimm went out of the cave and gave his orders to the huge crab. "Thousand-eyed Carcinus, guard this place, do not allow anyone to get near."

"Yes, Master Grimm."

Thousand-eyed Carcinus then burrowed itself near the cave entrance, blocking the whole pathway.

Grimm lit up a few magical lamps and hung them at each corner of the laboratory. He sanded down a few stone tables to be used as laboratory surfaces and got a few other things ready. After looking at the temporary laboratory which was now functional, Grimm nodded in contentment.

Slowly, Grimm took out some experiment specimens from the dimensional gap.

A crystal ball that housed a soul of the natural elements that had its will dispersed a long time ago. It was the natural elemental soul of the water crystal turtle that Grimm found by chance in the underground lake of the Shadow World.

As the demon-hunting expedition of the Shadow World was coming to an end, Grimm killed the Soul Slave that he had captured unexpectedly and took his natural elemental soul to uncover the secrets of the lightning mirror.

Now, the natural elemental soul had become one of the ingredients for the second phase of his chimera experiment after the shadow porcupine.

A bloodied heart that was still beating.

This was a Heart of Vitality discovered that Grimm chanced upon after he had slain an old monster of a sorcerer that had lost his mind in the metal castle of the Narrow World.

A few huge crystal jars of living flesh.

These were living cells that could consume each other that Grimm had been cultivating in the demon-hunting castle. After their host had died, these cells would consume each other to extend their lives. Grimm had been cultivating them using the blood and nutritional fluids that were collected during his time at the war in the Shadow World.

What's left to do now was the carca.s.s refinery.

The carca.s.s refinery would have to be completed carefully and gradually by Grimm.

Since he is going to include a new "shadow energy reversed digestive system" in the new chimera, which was an enigmatic sealing spell, Grimm would have to execute some of the runes in the carca.s.s refinery perfectly.

Else, it would be a great loss of his experiment ingredients if they were not perfectly executed.

There were a total of six energy nodes in the carca.s.s refinery, two hundred and sixteen energy response nodes, seven thousand seven hundred and ninety-two energy collision response zones, and three million five hundred and thirty-seven thousand nine hundred and ninety-four basic magical runes.

Among the three million five hundred and thirty-seven thousand nine hundred and ninety-four basic magical runes, there were a further two hundred and seventy-three thousand and six hundred basic runes which need further modification depending on the living flesh.

What Grimm needed to do was to modify the two hundred and seventy-three thousand and six hundred basic magical runes after integrating the shadow energy reversed digestive system into the living cells.

It would take seventy to eighty years of work by gross estimation.

Grimm personally deduced that once the chimera had the shadow energy reversed digestive system, it would have the ability to cast the enigmatic sealing spell.

The advantage of this sealing spell was that once the chimera had successfully sealed another creature, other than gaining a certain strength from consuming the sealed creature with its living cells, it would also attain some features of the sealed creature.

In general, it was a powerful self-evolving ability that had a high degree of autonomy.

It was too early to say, but Grimm was certain about one. The enigmatic sealing spell would be nothing more than decoration if any sun of the world were to s.h.i.+ne upon it.

In other words, it would take the night or a huge patch of shadows cast upon it for the chimera to be able to use this ability.

Grimm took a deep breath and calmed his mind down. He took out an enigmatic energy stone and ground it down slowly into powdered ink. He started to test the corresponding enigmatic energies against the basic sequences of the magical runes.

At the same time, from the crystal jars of living flesh, Grimm took out some of them to test the living flesh against the enigmatic energies to see how they would react.

This was the structured knowledge of the Dark Sorcerer's occult code of life and death.

It was an attempt by the Dark Sorcerers to exceed the nature of the death of flesh creatures. They were playing the role of G.o.ds in the legends in their experiments to master life and death.

Life, is the blessing of the G.o.ds!

Death, is taking of wills by the G.o.ds!

The occult code of life and death, in accordance with the Dark Sorcerer's pursuit of knowledge and ideals, were the occult knowledge of the G.o.ds!

But for the Elemental Sorcerers however, though they too attempted to exceed themselves like the G.o.ds from legends, they saw G.o.ds as the creator of the world, animator of creatures, creating something out of nothing, and had the ability to manifest the different principles.

Thus, Grimm started his second phase of chimera experimentation as planned in the simple temporary laboratory of the Burrow World.

His aim was to introduce an autonomous self-evolving ability that mimics the real creatures in the boundless worlds in the new generation of chimeras.

With this ability, though the chimeras were artificially created lives, they too would possess one of the basic qualities of a lifeform— evolution.

Evolve, understand, breed.

These were the definitions of the most basic qualities that the sorcerers have given to the boundless lifeforms of the endless worlds.
