346 The Burrow Xx

Grimm suddenly opened up the Dimensional Gap, retrieving hundreds of bottles of Camphoragate liquid. These were the mystical materials that were cultivated on a large scale by the Void Fortress according to the Camphoragate Worm specimen that Grimm had acquired.

As a reward for Grimm's contribution, he had been nominated for a Rank 3 Honor Badge. He would receive the badge from the Holy Tower when he returns to the Sorcerer World once this demon-hunting expedition concluded.

"Pa.s.s these Camphoragate free liquid to the fire creatures", Grimm said. "In the process of reinstalling the Lava Giants, these casualties are unavoidable."

Evidently, the Lava Giants as well as fire creatures were already familiar with the Camphoragate free liquid as they poured the liquid on their bodies without hesitation.

Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!...

After a series of intense war cries, the fire beings rushed into the opening cavity of the Camphoragate one after the other. In the blink of an eye, a dozen of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers were left alone outside the opening.

Under the Mask of Truth were the indifferent eyes of Grimm. After a while, he and his fellow sorcerers flew into the opening at the point of his finger.

Because Grimm had worked with the Great Tomb Segja, in addition to his filings for a level-three Medal of Honor, he had made his mark in the Void Fortress Battle Command. He received the current mission to exterminate the remaining Amonros' lairs through instantaneous communication via the Crystal Ball.

Over the past few years, Grimm had received no less than fifteen missions similar to the current one, thus making him well-experienced with the process.

At the moment, the surrounding sorcerers were all making Sorcerer Essences through their quest rewards as well as through utilising their chance to exploit the resources of this world. Each of these sorcerers were already dispatched to fulfil their tasks.

The Great Cataclysm refers to the ma.s.sive overhaul of this world's environment. It had resulted in turmoil and extinction of overall native species, which affected large scale food chains in the area.

According to the Mystical Law of this world's interiors, the Great Cataclysm was not so much a result of interference by strong creatures from a foreign world but rather, a result of a special change in the rules within the world.

The Shadow Calamity, the Crimson Sun Cataclysm were both just part of a cycle. Two very distinct systems of living beings endlessly rotating.

When one species gains immense powers enough to challenge the world's limits, it also marks the starting point of thriving for another species.

No matter if they were Amonros or Lava Giants, if the world's laws were not pushed beyond its limits, they would not walk the path towards civilization.

It was precisely because of this, that Jyoronshan was approved by much of the Lava Giants as he bore the hope of revival for them.

According to patterns of history, like the ancient Lava Giants, the Amonros' collapse and extinction was unavoidable—irreversible.

Three days later:

Underneath the Camphoragate, as a result of continuous fighting, parts of the tunnel walls were badly damaged, causing the underground cavern to collapse on itself. Large piles of rocks blocked the remaining tunnels for the time being, trapping the last group of Amonros inside it.

Crunch, cruch, crunch…

The leader of the Lava Giants caught hold of a Golden Amonro. Although the Amonro had strong fire-resistant abilities, it could not hold up against the Lava Giant's burning flames from his palms. It, however, did not die a quick death, instead it was struggling for its life, screaming in agony when the Lava Giant sank its teeth into its body, chewing it, turning it into meat paste before swallowing a whole mouthful.

The Amonros were considered a delicacy for the Lava Giants.

"Respected sorcerer, the way is see it, that last Enigmatic guy must've deliberately blocked this pa.s.sage in order to provide a means of escape for the remaining Amonros. I'm gonna start digging away at this stones."

Finis.h.i.+ng this, the fire creatures behind him swarmed to the front and started digging following a wave of the Lava Giant's hand.

Grimm nodded, ignoring the blind admiration from the leader of the Lava Giants. He said plainly, "Afterwards, let us deal with the entrapped Amonros ourselves. The slaves in the fortress are running out of rations anyway."

Grimm found an excuse, as he continued.

In reality, the hidden reason was that whenever demon-hunting expeditions were nearing its end, Demon-Hunter Sorcerers would personally capture some slaves from the native world and bring it back to the Sorcerer World to sell. It was another source of income for the Demon-Hunter Sorcerers.

"Yes, yes."

The Lava Giant smiled humbly yet cruelly. It could not help but feel a sense of respect for these mysteriously strong sorcerers that were barely two meters tall.

A few hourgla.s.ses later:

As the collapsed tunnel was dug open again, Grimm leading a team of Demon-Hunter Sorcerers swept into the place, rus.h.i.+ng in without a tinge of hesitation. Intense Energy Waves erupted deep within the tunnels but everything gradually came back to silence.

The main force of Amonros had already been obliterated by the Lava Giants. The remaining weaker Amonros were nothing in the face of these fearsome sorcerers.

After a while, each Demon-Hunter Sorcerer carried large cages in their arms, each one stuffed with Amonros. They threw it over to the ma.s.sive Lava Giants before exiting the underground cavern at their own pace.

Only Millie was left as she waited silently for Grimm who was still in the crowd of fire creatures, being the last sorcerer to leave the place.

Grimm held a crystal ball, diligently recording down the mission process. He turned over to the patiently waiting Lava Beings and announced, "The mission's completed."

Boom!

After a while, the Lava Giants who left the Camphoragate razed the opening cavity to the ground before sealing it shut with a large boulder and flew towards a faraway direction.
