In fact, this was a new riding whip that was specially made for this occasion To think that it, too, had been sabotaged so quickly.

I knew about it from the plot, of course! She thought in secret, but this was not an answer she could give. This slave saw Mu Fu, the carriage driver, lingering near our tent this morning and looking as if he wanted to run.
