38 Uncommon Territory

I have Xelu go aid Kess with wretched duty as I go to check in on Vulki. I end up finding her in one of the more remote rooms that we have. Taking a quick peek in leaves me stunned. Yeah, I didn't need to see that..... The scout leader will probably spill everything just from the look of things. I decide to ignore whatever goes on in there and take a look at my experience.

Level 12 is not too far away. Things are getting progressively slower as the amount of experience required is increasing. Hmmm? I notice a change in attributes. Strength and endurance went up .2 points. Territory core must've been strengthed. As I think that a new screen pops up under my status.

Territory Core [Fused](uncommon)(unnamed)- Core that was fused with a being. Strengthens lesser aspects of the fused being along with itself. Allows for the strengthening of others now.

It's changed. Now its uncommon and apparently, I can designate others to be strengthened as well. The energy that is usually absorbed into the territory core whenever something dies can now be set to a subordinate of the territory. I designate it towards Set for now. She is my last line of defense.

It seems that the area of the territory has increased as well. It is now about a kilometer in radius, which is about twice its previous size. The dead wretched have made great contributions to me.

Still, I wonder what is going on in the dungeon. I don't think the fairy gnomes are strong enough to withstand that flow..... Only possibilities I can see are that the gnomes have really strong individuals or there are other monsters in that dungeon. Whatever the reason is ot benefits me as it takes away a large portion of the wretched.....

------

Vulki walks over to me with a metal spiderling carrying a few sheets. How the h.e.l.l did she get these? Wait. These look more like leather? Oh no..... She has the spiderling hand them over to me.

"I got a lot of new information from her. It seems that she was really willing to divulge everything. Unprofessional in my opinion. Anyways, I summarized it all and had it written on these leathers from some dead wretched. Oh, Set, I may need some more ink by the way." Vulki

Thankfully the leathers came from wretched. I figured she had used the skin from the drow that we had captured. I have developed a small sort of hate towards drow but, I would rather not use their skin for writing. Only evil villians would do that..... Although..... Thinking on it, our forces have questionable aspects and spiders are not usually given good reputation.

'I still haven't accepted her. It seems that we share some common interests though. Like our undying pa.s.sion for-' Set

I ignore Set as I would rather not know. She seems to be the most isolated out of them all. She doesn't talk to the others much and she has been growing more introverted as time goes by. I asked her about it and she said that my life takes priority over all else. She cannot allow something to happen especially now that we are at war.....War?

Thinking on it why hasn't there been a war declaration? Unless the wretched don't have an offical territory established. I'll put that line of though off until later. What matters now is this information.

Looking over it all I see some suprising information. The mystery of the dungeon is solved as well. It seems that a 'legendary' creature lives in there that kills any large invasion into the dungeon. The drow learned this the hard way. First time I have seen anything about a legendary creature.

The rest of the information consists of what the drow have learned of the wretched and the political undercurrents that are going on. This scouting force was established by all three religious factions and the royal family. The most that could be sent were semi-elites as all forces are being used to hold the invasion of wretched at bay and even to try and force the wretched back so that a bigger force can steel their way towards their hive.

The wretched we have been fighting consists of newborns while the drow have been fighting 'mutated' ones. Similar to the one Vulki and I killed earlier. The information that suprised me the most relates to the religious faction. Apparently, a prophet in the faction that wors.h.i.+ps spiders had his eyes bleed as he saw a vision. He then started ranting about how that a much more dangerous being lies near the wretched hive. That being will spell the end of the drow race. Of course the drow ignored that, as he seemed to have gone mad afterwards.

That can't be me.... Right? I'll ask Vulki about it later. She seems to have been a prophet as well. I place the leathers down and see Vulki staring at me with antic.i.p.ation. I praise her and try to give her a headpat but, my hands just phase through. She seems to upset about that.

'Hmphhh, it's best that she can't come into contact with master. I can only imagine.... Why. Why, can't I have a more humanoid body....' Set

It seems that Set has made herself upset as well.
