47 Vampire Attack!

'Come here as soon as you get this. Hurry!'

Seeing this message, she panicked. 'Was he in some difficult situation? What would have happened?' Various thousand negative thoughts crossed her mind like lightning. She hurriedly grabbed her purse and ran from the house.

"Noah? Are you alright?" she called as soon as she entered her hiding place.

But instead of some dangerous situation, she was greeted by a grinning Noah. She sighed in relief but soon anger boiled in her. She shouted, "What the h.e.l.l Noah? You know how worried I was. Who sends a message like that?"

Noah realized his mistake and pouted, "Sorry. I was just so happy that I called you in haste."

His pouting face calmed Alyssa instantly. "It's alright. What is it?" she questioned.

"I got the contract from a famous company regarding our invention. They will help us build the taser and in return, they will need twenty percent of our profit. The tasers will be launched after two days in the market." Noah explained everything in a single breath.

"That's awesome Noah. Well done!" Alyssa cheered him. She was elated too. "What's the company's name?" she asked with interest.

"The only famous company in this continent. Roosevelt Corporations." Noah answered.

Hearing the name of the country Alyssa was once again reminded of her kiss. She blushed. She turned around from Noah to cover her blush and said, "Show me the contract."

"Here it is." Noah picked the contract from the table and walked towards Alyssa. He was excited and was in a hurry. His all attention was on Alyssa. His left foot was caught in the wires and he stumbled. To prevent himself from falling, Noah tried to grab something and his hand banged on a wall. He couldn't find it to support himself and fell on the floor. Alyssa turned in the direction of the noise. After Noah fell, a high pitch screeching noise rumbled in the room making both of them jump out of their skin.

"What's happening?" Noah shouted.

"I don't know. Maybe this place is falling." Alyssa said loudly over the screeching voice to make her voice audible.

"Run!" Noah took Alyssa's hand and turned towards the exit.

It was then they saw a wall sliding. They stopped. Once the wall stopped sliding, the screeching voice stopped too and a hidden chamber was discovered.

Both of them looked at each other and simultaneously went into the chamber.

"Just how many secret chambers does this place holds?" Noah asked curiously.

Alyssa ignored his question. Her eyes were roaming around the chamber. The chamber was small. Racks were made on its walls and piles of papers filled these walls. There was a stone table in the middle of the room. On the table, there were some unburnt candles. There were solidified waxes at different places. From the looks of it, it seemed to her that this chamber was frequently used. Near the candles was a book which was the only thing that was different in the room. They were not the type of papers that they were using in the current generation. They were scrolls made of bamboos and other materials. Alyssa took one of the scrolls from its pile. She blew the dust from its surface making both Noah and herself cough a little. She carefully kept it on the table and slowly opened it. There were some pictures drawn and something was written around the drawing.

"It's pre-Asterosian language." Noah provided the answer she was looking for.

"How do you know?" Alyssa asked curiously.

"Once I found a book written in this language in the royal library."

"Can you read it?" Alyssa asked hopefully.

"No. I just know some of the characters of that language." Noah replied.

"Alyssa sighed and kept the scroll at its original place.

She turned to the book and wiped the dust present on it with her sleeves. She opened the book and to her surprise, it was written in Asterosian language. After reading for a bit she exclaimed in excitation, "This is a diary!"

"What does it say?" Noah asked curiously.

"It maybe belonged to my great grandfather. It is the records of his work a.s.signed by the First Queen of Asteros. It also describes her a bit. It's awesome." Alyssa replied cheerfully flipping through the pages of the diary.

After keeping the diary at its place, both of them walked out of the chamber. Both of them silently began to do their works.

"You know I sometimes feel that there is a war coming," Noah spoke solemnly breaking the silent atmosphere.

Alyssa glanced at him and asked, "Why would you say so?"

"I don't know. It's just a feeling."

"Alyssa clenched her jaw remembering the dark dirty secrets of the royal family and said, "Sometimes somethings are necessary. I can feel it in my bones. I can smell blood in the air." She raised her hand and her fingers move as if she was caressing the air. "I can taste it. The war." In the end, her voice became distant as if she was seeing something.

"What are you talking about" Noah exclaimed making her snap from her thoughts.

"Nothing." Alyssa lied.

"How are you sure there will be a war?" Noah asked seriously.

"From there." Alyssa pointed a finger at the television set in the room. Suddenly the television blasted with live news and both of their eyes zeroed on the news.

[We are currently present in the King's Kitchen, reporting live about the recent deaths of our kind by the hands of the Vampires. There have been twelve deaths report in total. The body is sucked completely dry and there is a presence of Vampire's teeth on their body indeed indicating that this is another threat from our neighboring country. What will our government do about this? Let us ask it from….]

"My goodness, what will happen now?" Noah asked worriedly.

Seeing this news, Alyssa's emotions became unstable. Electricity started cracking between her fingertips. Alyssa tucked both of her hands behind her and said, "I am going for some fresh air. I will return after a while." And without waiting for any reply from Noah she rushed outside.
