It is said that people go outside when they search for thieves or enemies but no one looks in their own houses. The best protection anyone can find is by living under their nose. And the best protection Alyssa can find from people living in and out of the palace is by living inside the palace.

The palace of Coral Bells was made on the relics of a previous palace. So, many dungeons, bas.e.m.e.nts, and secret pa.s.sages were forgotten with time. Now no one remembers them. Alyssa was sure that there was no old map that was present in the 'Royal Library'.

The bas.e.m.e.nts and dungeons of the old palace was her best secret hideout.

Alyssa spent her entire childhood running in these pa.s.sages. She knew each and every pa.s.sage of the old palace like the back of her hand.

One of the pa.s.sages of the 'old palace' led to the outskirt of the city. After walking for some miles, they can reach a chamber previously it was called as 'Chamber of relics' or bas.e.m.e.nt, as Alyssa likes to call it. She decided to use this chamber as her secret hideout.

The chamber has three pa.s.sages. One that leads to the outskirt of the city. The second pa.s.sage leads to the inside of the old and new palace. And the third chamber opens at the now deserted garden of the old palace. The garden was said to be the favorite place of the old queen, Queen Elsa. Near the garden there is a stream flowing, which can provide another escape route for Alyssa if caught.

Alyssa had decided to block the pa.s.sage leading to the palace because it was no use for her and she doesn't want any 'royal being' to find her secret.

Alyssa decided to purchase a boat and a motorcycle. She can use the boat to escape through the stream and motorcycle to escape through the other pa.s.sage.

It's funny for the werewolves to use trains and bikes. They can s.h.i.+ft to their animal form and can run fast. But with the decline of magic throughout the ages, werewolves stopped s.h.i.+fting. They tend to be more like humans than wolves. s.h.i.+fting in their wolves' form was just a legend to them. Some even call it a myth. Now, it was rare for someone to s.h.i.+ft. If a person was able to s.h.i.+ft, he was considered as G.o.d, he was feared and was considered as the 'Ruler of the Rulers'. That person was said to have awakened his bloodline. But it was very rare. The last person to s.h.i.+ft was some 500 years ago and it was written in legend that he died just a few hours after s.h.i.+fting because of extreme pain due to bones and muscle dislocation.

Alyssa and Noah alighted from the train. Noah was practically shaking in fear when Alyssa told him about her hideout. For him this plan was a suicide.

Sometimes Alyssa really doubts that he is alpha or not because he is practically afraid of everything. Alyssa being an Omega was had much more guts than him.

Alyssa and Noah reached the outskirts of Royal City. It was a deserted place near the forest. There was a ruin of some palace or monument present. She entered the monument. It was dark inside so she switched on a torch. Ske kept going inside. There were inscriptions written in the walls. There were some ruined statues of old kings and queens kept on both sides of the walls. That pa.s.sage led her to a chamber where there was a statue of a woman with a crown on her head. The woman was holding a sword with both of her hands in a downward position.

Whenever Alyssa sees her, she gets a strange feeling of familiarity. She felt like drowning. Everything becomes hazy. Alyssa looked at it just for few seconds then she averted her eyes.

She looked towards Noah and found him looking around like a child that came to an amus.e.m.e.nt park for the first time.

She chuckled and called Noah.

"Now look carefully. This stone which looks like a ring on the statue's middle finger is actually a lever. When you press it, the wall on your left side will open. That will be the pa.s.sage that will lead us inside the palace. Once inside YOU MUST FOLLOW ME CLOSELY." Alyssa spoke and pressed the b.u.t.ton. Soon the wall on their left side opened to a narrow pa.s.sage. Both of them entered the pa.s.sage. After various twists and turns, they arrived at the 'Chamber of Relics' or their hideout place. The place was gigantic. there were statues of 'Kings and Queens of Old' and below their statues their cadaver was present.

There was the same statue of the lady present just opposite of them. Alyssa choose that spot to place her table. She unfolded her table and placed her gadgets and computer parts on it.

Noah sulked a little because he couldn't find a place to set up his table. Alyssa kindly provided the s.p.a.ce beside her for him to set up his table. He started doing his own work.

After some time Alyssa a.s.sembled the parts of her laptop and computer. There were many monitors around them. Some of them were showing stock markets. Some of it was for security purpose and some of it was to alert them in case of invasion.

Alyssa hacked the CCTV cameras around the palace near her hideout to keep an eye on them.

She did a biometric scanning of Noah and herself so that both of them can enter freely and if anyone other then them enters, the computers will explode on their own killing the invader.

Noah was impressed by her. He felt like some detective working in a science fiction movie who have to save earth from alien invasion.

After their work was done and their surroundings were secured Noah looked towards Alyssa and said, "What is your invention? You never told me about it."

Alyssa gave him a mischievous smile and said, "I was thinking about a device that can be used as a protection from the Diseased."

Noah was stunned for a while but he believed her. He finally believed her.
