1 A Fleeting Momen

So.. I'm at a party right now.. With people I have no intention of conversing with, or even mingle with.. But I'm here for reasons. And one of those is the one that I will have to live by because I was asked to. I don't mind, really. But the fact that I was told to dress up in a certain way got on my nerves before we were able to even get to the place. I hate it when people dictate what I have to wear. I'm already going to the d.a.m.n party, why can't I wear the clothes I'm comfortable with? Enough with my complaining.

I'm here now, and there's nothing I can do about it. I'll just try to enjoy the night. If I can.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh great.. Everyone seems like they're having the time of their lives, and I'm just over here. Standing in the middle of an open s.p.a.ce, trying my best to not get in the way of the others. Drink in hand, eyes wandering over to the crowd at the mosh pit bouncing up and down to the beats of the DJ. Oh I wish I could be like them sometimes. They look so carefree..

I take another sip of my drink, I don't like it but it's the only thing that's to my liking in the whole place. I feel a tap on my shoulder, annoyed, and turn to see this tall guy standing behind me. A weak grin spread across his face. I try my best to give him a smile, and it seemed like it worked. Unfortunately, he didn't let it go that easy.

"So, what are you up to right now?" He asked in my ear. He had to come close to my face because I couldn't hear him over the sound of the music blasting from the speakers. I just held my barely touched drink up as a sign of doing-what-I'm-here-for kind of thing. He nodded and said, "Are you alone?" I scoffed and just shrugged my shoulders. I am seriously not in the mood for these kinds of things right now.

"I gotta question for you, girl."

"Shoot." I said.

"Are you Korean or something?" He leaned back a little as he said that. "'Cause you look like one."

Ouch.

"No." Was all that I could muster. Well that was annoying. I have never been told that I looked Asian in my entire life.

"Really? 'Cause you look like one." He said with a stupid grin on his face.

"I'm not."

He finally let it go, and I thought that it would be the end of it, but it wasn't. It was apparently a sign that led to him talking to me for the first hour of my night. Gah.. Annoying..

Why won't you stop talking? You're weird. You try to converse with a girl who obviously isn't interested in talking back to you. Tch.

Trying not to be rude, at all, I just nod and sip my drink every now and then. Making him talk for the most part and just say "oh" and "ah" at the right times. (*AN: That, right there, sounds defo wrong on so many levels. Hahahaha.)

Oh someone please just save me. I secretly roll my eyes just as he was saying something in my ear once more.

As if my silent wish was heard, I heard him get interrupted by someone else. There came in sight was this new guy. Ugh. Not another one. I slowly walk away from the scene that the two of them are already making. This new guy looks like he's telling the first guy off. The look on the first guy's face is slowly turning sour.

Without any hesitation, I turn around and started walking away. I don't need this in my life right now. I seriously don't. Just walk away and don't look back, I said to myself. Then there was a firm but gentle hold on my arm. Oh G.o.d, no. I struggle a little to be free from the grasp. Alas it was of no use. I was already weak from the alcohol, so I didn't fight it any longer.

"h.e.l.lo." The mysterious person said. I turned and was stopped in my tracks. Oh. h.e.l.lo.. It was the guy from earlier. The one who interrupted the first guy's attempt at trying to get me to talk.

"Uhm. Are you okay, miss?" He said with a sly smile. OH. Well..

"Huh? Uh. Yeah, why?" I managed to mutter. Bah, I feel so fl.u.s.tered right now. I can't even look at him in the face. Well, I really can't anyway because if I did, I wouldn't be able to hear what he was saying to me. He just looked at me. Or at least, that's what it seemed like from my point of view. But why would he? There are so many other girls out there in the open, and this guy chooses to talk to me. Huh. Weird guy. Well whatever. I didn't wait for a reply from him and started to walk away when he called out to me.

"Hey! Aren't you going to say thank you?"

"Excuse me?" I was starting to get annoyed now.

"You're excused." He said with a mocking grin on his face.

What the actual frick, guy.

"Whatever." I didn't want to deal with s.h.i.+zz like this. Not when I'm already feeling light-headed. Ugh. I need to get some air.. The alcohol's prolly getting to me. I feel really dizzy.. Must get out..

I stumble on my own legs a few times, b.u.mping into other people in the process, but manage to walk out of the party scene.

Outside, there were more people than I would have expected. Most of them happily chatting away with someone, their friend maybe. And the others, well, they were trying their best to hold their head in their hands which are placed on their knees. Looks like they've been having a blast.

Nowhere to sit.. That's too bad.. I'm exhausted though.. Oh well. I sit on the floor, my behind barely touching the smooth tile and close my eyes. The music still blasting from the speakers. The sound of people chatting. Oh.. I feel so sleepy.. s.h.i.+zz.. I felt my body collapse and waited for the pain to come, but.. There was nothing.. Huh?

I look up and try to focus my blurry vision on something. Huh. A person maybe? Smells nice..

"Are you okay?" He said. It's the weird guy, the one who told the weird first guy off.

The sound of his voice woke me up. Well that worked. Oh.. Wait.. What?

"Uh. Yeah. Thanks. You can let go of me now." I said, struggling to get up.

"No, no. I like holding you like this." He smiled. His eyes are so captivating..

Oh dear..
