Some people have been asking about my translating "Feng Mang". The thing is, I had planned to start doing so with Sae after we both complete our current projects, but it seems like somebody has gotten to it before us. Their translation is in their WordPress page right now so that's why Sae and I are a bit wary about translating "Feng Mang".

So Feng Mang? Maybe. We'll see how it goes.

Beijing - the first signs of snow flakes was quickly followed by a snow storm, basking the city in a pretty pristine white. The usual polluted, foggy Beijing appears surprisingly clean today.

Xia Yao and Xuan Da Yu sat inside a Hot-pot restaurant. Stock boiled inside the gold plated copper pot, steaming heat dissipated into Xia Yao's face, lightly imprinting a blush on it. Xia Yao has been on patrol since morning, and there was finally something hot to eat.

Xuan Da Yu picked up two pieces of fresh goat meat and plopped it into the pot, blanching it before setting it into Xia Yao's bowl.

"You eat up, I can blanch my own food, you know?" Xia Yao said.

Xuan Da Yu sighed, "Your chopsticks hand is shaking."

Xia Yao laughed hehe, "That's what I call bosom friends."

"Is the iPad I gave you any good?" Xuan Da Yu asked.

Xia Yao momentarily halted, then huffed, "Good my arse! Last time, when I was playing, it suddenly shuts down."

"How can it be like that?"

Why not? Xia Yao muttered under his breath, because of that stupid iPad, somebody had to stay up all night long...

As this thought crossed his mind, Xia Yao put down his chopsticks and glanced at Xuan Da Yu.

"Say... What if a person is too good to you?"

A shadow flitted across Xuan Da Yu's face, "Isn't that a great thing?"

"No, it's just that this person is too good to you, so good that you can't comprehend it. Moreover, this person's treatment brings pressure, even though you want to contain yourself, you can't because of this too good to be true treatment.

Xuan Da Yu's suspicious haze settled on Xia Yao, "You got a girl chasing after you?"

"What, no." Xia Yao denied instantly, "It's just normal friendship." (Heh, lie all you want, babe, but we all know the truth )

To be honest, Xuan Da Yu can't really be of any help, he was having the same problems himself.

"Why don't you go ask Peng Zi? Doesn't he consider himself an old hand at relationships? Truly, he can even think of pretending to be gay to attract women, so he won't have any problems helping you with yours."

Xia Yao pointlessly dropped two ice cubes into his cup, "I'm just lazy."

"What's the matter?"

"He's very cunning." Xia Yao said.

Since their meeting at that club, they have yet to see each other again. Peng Ze have called a few times, but Xia Yao would always pretend he was too busy.

Xuan Da Yu contemplated as he ate, Xia Yao's schedule is very predictable, other than his police department, it's home. He would sometimes go to that bodyguard training company, but other than that, there has been no indication of any girls chasing him. And Xia Yao was talking about a close friendship, someone who treats him well. It's a relationship he doesn't want to share with Peng Ze. The more Xuan Da Yu thought about it, the more it seemed like Xia Yao was talking about him.

As that thought crossed his mind, Xuan Da Yu immediately asked, "So you want to meet this person?"

"Can't say I want to meet him, to be honest, he wants to see me more than I do him."

Noticing the deliberate vagueness of Xia Yao's words, Xuan Da Yu got an even clearer impression that his friend was implying him.

"So what do you want now? Get rid of that dude? Or break off your relationship?" asked Da Yu.

"No, no, no." Xia Yao said honestly, "It's not so serious to that degree! I just want a little privacy to think it over, I don't want it to bother me so much."

"I know how to deal with this situation." Da Yu concluded with unexpected determination.

Xia Yao's chopsticks stopped, eyes gazing at the other man. "How?"

"Treat him well, the same way he does you."

Xia Yao gasped in surprise, not really understanding his friend's suggestion.

"Only when you're nice to him, repaying this debt of affection, can you two stand on the same level. This will mark an end to your mental burden. And once it disappears, you can totally ease up to decide on this relationship any way you wish."

Sadly, only inexperienced people like Xia Yao can be bothered to seriously consider the silly advice on love Da Yu had just given.

"Really?"

Da Yu nodded.

Xia Yao said nothing and continued on with his noodles.

"Oh yes, I told you to keep an eye on Wang Zhi Shui for me. Have you checked on him in your free time?" Da Yu asked again.

Xia Yao replied without looking up, "Too busy to find time for it these days."

"Ok, just help me pay close attention to him, don't let that guy use any other damned tactics. What if that cursed trickster find money to set up a few relationships and get a bail, then where could I find that fucking chap?!"

Xia Yao couldn't hold his laughter, "Don't worry, he had to sweat blood to be put in jail. Free food and supplies, how could he dare to get out when he still hasn't enjoyed it?"

That idea made sense to Xuan Da Yu after he spent a while to work out that staying in prison was much better than being tortured by him out there. Right after that, he realized letting Wang Zhi Shui reside in the detention center was too much of a comfort.

"Let me tell you this, now I'm feeling hot under the collar that I can't hire two gays to commit crime, mingle with those in the center and beat him to a pulp right there!" Xuan Da Yu agressively rubbed his hands, as if he couldn't wait any longer.

Xia Yao sniffed, "Why don't you pay ransom for his release? Dealing with him out there must be much more pleasing, I guess."

"Actually, great idea!" Xuan Da Yu roared with laughter, making Xia Yao speechless with his friend's manner.

Fewer than two minutes afterwards, Xia Yao's phone rang. As he picked it up to check, the call was from the detention center's jailer. Previous to that, Xia Yao had told him to inform him immediately, if it should happen that anything went wrong regarding Wang Zhi Shui.

"Mr Xia, come here for a moment. We have a problem."

"What happened?" Xia Yao's expression froze over.

When the warden finished, Xia Yao's thin eyes immediately widened.

"Are you for real?"

"..."

Xuan Da Yu put down the chopsticks, eyeing Xia Yao warily.

"What's wrong?"

Xia Yao half laughed half teared up, "Well, someone just did you a favor."

Xuan Da Yu, after frozen with shock, burst out laughing so rabidly that he almost flipped over the whole hotpot.

"Hell yeah! It fucking serves him right!"

Xia Yao quickly packed his stuff, saying, "I'm paying him a visit."

"What for?" Xuan Da Yu questioned.

Xia Yao replied, "I have to check on him of course! Hopefully everything is okay."

"Isn't it better if something happens?"

"Are you dumb? What if he commits suicide, then who will you take revenge on?" Xia Yao tapped his fingers on the table.

Xuan Da Yu said nothing.

Xia Yao continued, "What if he turns psychotic, then when you do hire some gay dudes to do him, he'll probably like it! The jokes would be on you!"

Xuan Da Yu immediately changed his attitude, rushing Xia Yao.

"Then go, console him well. After that, give the wardens some cash, and tell them to treat him with delicious food, nourish him to stoutness. Only when he's enjoyed the sense of happiness will he deeply feel the sheer torture from heaven to hell!"

When Xia Yao reached the detention center, those involved in the matter had been called in to interrogate. According to what Xia Yao heard from the guards, this was only a nonsensical situation, the only reason everyone was freaking out was because Wang Zhi Shui was screaming bloody murder. The other guy never did anything to him other than feel him up a bit, maybe scared him with a few sexual innuendos, then the dude might have slipped a finger into Wang Zhi Shui's buttcrack.

Then Wang Zhi Shui screamed with all his might, like he was being electrocuted, not minding the sneers he was receiving from fellow inmates.

The warden took Wang Zhi Shui to the duty room. At first glance, Xia Yao realized he was distinctly skinnier.

As Wang Zhi Shui saw Xia Yao, he looked at him as if he had finally met his close ones after days. Tears were streaming down his face.

"Officer Xia, didn't you say they don't rape asses in the detention center?"

The warden immediately threw his surprising look at Xia Yao, "You..." discussed with him about this kind of problem?

Realizing Xia Yao's embarrassment, he quickly looked away and coughed politely, "Keep talking, I'm going to check around the cells."

It was when the guard had gone that Xia Yao glanced at Wang Zhi Shui.

"Hey, can you please think before blurting stuff out? Use your brain."

"I'm just out of my mind at the moment." Wang Zhi Shui grumbled darkly.

Xia Yao's eyes swept over Wang Zhi Shui, found out his gloomy expression as if he had been ill-treated. Although he's good-for-nothing, he still had his own self-esteem. No man whatsoever that can bear such harassment! What if that event keeps floating back and forth in Wang Zhi Shui's mind, which may in turn make him do real damage, turning him from a temporarily captured man into a prisoner in its entirety, then for how long would Xuan Da Yu have to wait for his bail?

Considering this, Xia Yao decided to console Wang Zhi Shui.

"How's everything here?" he took the initative.

"Fine." replied Wang Zhi Shui.

"What about the food?"

"Not too bad."

Xia Yao then asked, "Have you ever eaten any additional dishes apart from the daily servings?"

"The food's really good, enough for me. Most importantly, it doesn't not cost any money to buy meals in here."

Xia Yao had always known that food in prison merely included a dumpling, a bowl of vegetables; just that was not enough for even a person. Normally everyone arrested would be cooped up for a few days. Being restricted from freedom was not enough, so they were also tortured in living condition. If you want to pass that terrible time then you must have a little money to bribe the guards. Otherwise, a day is as long as one year.

However, Wang Zhi Shui has successfully stood it for up to eight days.

From his pocket, Xia Yao pulled out a few notes, "Take these."

Wang Zhi Shui looked at the money in a astonished way, "Why do you give me money?"

"Just take it."

On Wang Zhi Shui's dull face flared up with happiness, he excitedly took the money, carefully put it into his pocket; the pupils respectfully staring at Xia Yao.

Seeing Wang Zhi Shui's appreciative eyesight Xia Yao suddenly felt uneasy about his real intentions doing this.

But before Xia Yao had the chance to feel remotely guilty, Wang Zhi Shui's mouth twitched and he sluggishly said a word.

"Police Xia, it seems that there's still a lot of money in your wallet."

(Why WZS? Why do you always manage to ruin it for yourself? Are you doing this on purpose? T_T )

I know that everyone is curious about the web series right now and maybe some of have already heard this but AB is being put on hold and has no actual release date yet. I think Chai JiDan is still fighting hard to have it aired for the fans. The three episode that you may have seen are leaked videos and not official. That's why the film crew is asking everyone to wait out for the official movie. They also called out for people to stop watching and sharing the leaked version.

My personal thoughts? I think SARFT is too scared to let AB air in fear that it would have the same effect as Addicted. But don't you worry because remember that China is not the only Market Miss Chai can sell her movie off to ;).
