On the eastern road towards Yuan Ming Yuan, Xia Yao along with the other police laid in ambush. After one year of extensive investigation, there are chances that an extremely dangerous organization will appear here, in which two suspected A level criminals who had been involved with a few assassinations also belonged to.

Xiao Hui anxiously glanced at his watch, to be honest, he has only been apart of this crime division for half a year, this is the first time he's undertaking such a dangerous mission so he couldn't help but feel restless. In comparison to the fleeing criminals, he was even more nervous.

Xia Yao, on the other hand, was calm and focused, his eyes scanning each cars passing by, lips remains pursed.

The sky began to darken, a Honda rolled into the sights of the police.

The team captain stopped it, stepping up to demand for thorough check of passengers.

However, the Honda suddenly shot forward at a rapid speed, escaping against the flood of traffic. Seeing this situation, the officers closely chased behind. The wanted criminal drove off the main road and ran for his life, turning back into the highway and continued on.

Being pursued by the police, the criminals' tyre exploded, skidding sideways to a halt. Seven people jumped out and started shooting at the police.

"Get down!"

The captain yelled at his team mates.

A frightening bullet hole appeared on the windshield, sending a shiver through the squadron.

After rounds of endless firing, the whole police force was appointed to close in and catch the offenders.

However, in comparison to these merciless criminals, the reality was this police division was no match for them. Some hid behind bushes or behind cars, some held onto their guns, which were out of bullets, for dear life.

The most dim-witted person, however, had to be officer Zhang who was hiding beside Xia Yao, not only did he not understand the opposition's bullet pathway, but he still poked out his head as if they were only catching some mild burglars.

As a result, he was sniped in the head, his police force helmet could not take the hit, the bullet went straight through, and officer Zheng died on the spot.

This unintended dilemma struck others speechless, some were even unable to grip their guns because of their shaking hands, while a few had trouble recharging. Contrary to this, Xia Yao felt his blood pumping, a flood of adrenaline coursed through his veins making him leave his hiding spot to directly engage with the gunmen despite the captain's orders.

In this instant, a taxi came riding towards them.

After seeing the scene before his eyes, the driver hurriedly got out and ran for his life. However, he never got far as he got caught in the crossfire and lost his life in a matter of seconds.

The bad guys turned to run away, Xia Yao used the roundabout for cover whilst furiously shooting at them. A bullet hit a criminal's leg, he hit the ground right before the taxi's door.

This time, a bus came forth.

The bus driver could probably have pulled the gas and escape, but upon seeing such a scene, he was scared to death and hit the emergency brakes instead.

The bus was quickly filled with gunshots all around coming from the out of control felons, a dozen passengers were injured, series of heart wrenching wails pierced the atmosphere, cries and calls for help mixed together under this pitch black sky.

"Fuck!"

Xia Yao growled in deep dudgeon as he quickly took down one of the guys who had his back to him. The instant the gun touched the ground, the other criminals swiveled around, pulling out their guns and aimed for Xia Yao's head.

In that moment of life and death, a huge force pulled Xia Yao around. Before he had a change to even react, he was already safe and sound behind a massive powerful body. (Aaarrghhh! >_< I knew mah baby would appear at the right time!)

The bullet nicked at Yuan Zong's wrist, peeling of a bit of skin.

With his incredible speed, Yuan Zong quickly got a hold of Xia Yao's gun and aimed directly at the opposition. One shot straight through the eyes.

With a hole being literally carved inside the skeleton, the criminal's body tumbled to the ground, brain matters strewn around, it was enough to send a repulsive shiver through all watchers. Before Xia Yao had the chance to truly let this feeling sunk in, Yuan Zong had already picked up the fallen criminal's gun walking away.

With two guns in hand, Yuan Zong gently bent and moved forward, wisely making use of the terrain, then calmly pulling the trigger three times. Immediately, three bodies dropped to the ground.

Blinking at Yuan Zong, Xia Yao was soon frozen to the spot by his incredible marksmanship. That was called "shooting while walking". Moreover, under cover of darkness, it was something of a miracle to gain such accuracy.

Sadly, such skilled marksmanship was no match for an army of seven opponents with seven guns. Three men had been shot down and the last four rivals turned their firepower on the source of the blow.

Yuan Zong was in the possession of Xia Yao's pistol so Xia Yao knew for sure that the number of bullets left was not enough to take down the last four felons.

In the blink of the eyes, Yuan Zong made an unexpected movement by reloading the gun with one hand, not leaving even a tiny space for error as he shot three consecutive rounds, three bullets hitting it's exact mark.

The last criminal, with no more weapon, fled like crazy heading for a bypass.

Each of Yuan Zong's pistols had one more bullet left, the first shot came form the left hand, the second shot was from the right gun. As soon as the first was freed, the second bullet closely followed behind, attaching itself onto the end of the first bullet, both hitting it's target.

It was too dark to determine who had been killed, they only knew very single criminal has been taken down. Only Xia Yao knew the truth, eight bullets, three dead, four seriously injured.

Two guns at the same time, reloading with one hand, spinning guns in the air, all of the tricks one can only see on the Hollywood screen was no doubt presented before Xia Yao's eyes, spurring this feeling of choking within his throat.

It was only then that the police force came out from their hiding places (Ann: a bunch of pussies -_-), running over to cuff the criminals.

Yuan Zong held out his wrists in front of Xia Yao, indicating for him to do the same.

Xia Yao glanced at his bleeding wrist, which was the result of Yuan Zong saving him.

"Leave it, we won't use the cuffs, you can come ride with me."

"Aren't you afraid I'll run away?" Yuan Zong said.

Xia Yao glared at him, "In this area, I'm particularly assured that it won't happen."

"Or maybe you can take my hand, wouldn't that be safer?" Yuan Zong used his emotionless tone to suggest a superbly childish solution.

Xia Yao placed Yuan Zong's injured arm into his embrace and entwined his fingers with this smart mouthed jerk's hand in punishment, so tightly, in fact, the blood began pouring out.

Yuan Zong gnashed his teeth together, but his lips couldn't help but curve up.

Uurgghhh...so this extremely lengthy chapter is finally over!!! *Wipe brows* I really REALLY don't like translating these "fighting" and "dying" scenes :'(. All I want is a bit of sugar T_T.

Haizzz, gotta say though, Mr. Yuan Zong always appears like a knight in shining armor doesn't he? ^^
