91 Spring Hunt 9

"I overate. I was going for a short walk. Prince Jing, you should join the feast first and enjoy the festivity," Princess Lingchen said. She nodded and stepped forward before the prince spoke again.

"I heard that the real reason His Majesty invited the princes to join the spring hunt was to let you choose one of them as your husband."

Princess Lingchen paused and turned around. "Really?" she glanced at the princes not far away from where they stood and asked, "Prince Jing, do you have any advice for me regarding this?"

Prince Jing watched the princess for a few seconds longer before he spoke. "Your Highness, why does it feel like you're treating me with hostility recently?"

"I don't understand what you mean, Prince Jing," Princess Lingchen tilted her head as she looked at him puzzlement.

Prince Jing took a step towards the princess, and Princess Lingchen fought the urge to take a step back to avoid him. The last time Prince Jing got too close to her, the poison inside her body had reacted. Of course, she had to be careful around him.

Moreover, Mingyue and grandfather had warned her that the next time the cold poison might attack again, she might lose the ability to conceive. However, she was not sure if Prince Jing had done something to trigger the dormant poison in her body,

Seeing that Prince Jing did not have anything else to say to her, Princess Lingchen stepped aside and moved forward without saying anything. Once she was farther away from Prince Jing, Yang Yun appeared by her side.

"Your Highness," Yang Yun bowed. "Are you alright?"

Yang Yun was on his duty to guard the princess. He had seen Prince Jing when the prince approached the princess. But seeing that the prince did not try to harm the princess, Yang Yun had stayed hidden.

Princess Lingchen spoke in a lower voice, "Let's find Mingyue first."

"Your Highness, Mingyue stayed at Prince Lu Wei's tent to monitor his condition," Yang Yun reported.

The Crown Princess nodded. Coincidentally, she was on her way to visit the prince. Once the princess arrived at the prince's tent, a few guards stood beside the tent. A physician walked out of the tent and bowed when he saw the princess.

"Is Physician Jiang inside?" Princess Lingchen asked.

"Yes," The physician nodded. He was startled when the princess tried to enter the tent. Suddenly, he knelt on the ground. "Your Highness, pardon my impertinence, but you cannot enter now. The prince is not dressed properly."

Princess Lingchen stopped immediately.

"I will call Physician Jiang for you," the physician offered. When the princess nodded to give her permission, the physician scurried inside. Shortly after, Mingyue stepped out of the tent.

"Your Highness," Mingyue came out in haste and bowed. She rose when the princess stopped her. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be joining the feast? What is it? You're feeling uncomfortable?"

A smile appeared on the princess' lips as she saw Mingyue's worried expression. "Let's talk somewhere private."

Mingyue nodded and led the princess towards one of the medic's tent. Yang Yun stayed outside to guard.

Once they're inside, Princess Lingchen immediately took off the binding around her wrist. "I met Prince Jing on my way here."

Mingyue's frowned. She knew what had happened the last time Prince Jing had met the princess. Since that time, her brother, Jiang Xiao Xian had warned them to be careful around the prince. Mingyue immediately placed her fingers on the princess' wrist. She examined the pulse on both hands before she looked up at the princess with a frown.

"What is it?" Princess Lingchen asked anxiously.

"How long ago did you meet Prince Jing?" Mingyue asked.

"Not long. I was on my way here to visit Prince Lu Wei when I met the prince," Princess Lingchen answered.

Mingyue sighed in relief. "It's a good thing that you came here early." She fed the princess with a pill and applied acupuncture needles on her body. When she finished, Mingyue instructed Ah Zhen to bring thick clothing for the princess. Then, she met Yang Yun to alert him on the situation.

Princess Lingchen's expression dark. "Mingyue, you're saying that Prince Jing really did something to stimulate the poison in my body?"

"I would not call it a coincidence. The poison in your body reacted both times you met Prince Jing," Mingyue said. "If he really did something, he must have traces of evidence around him."
