In the next two matches, the initial b.l.o.o.d.y scene was once again staged before everyone's eyes.

As a result, deaths and injuries caused heavy losses to many teams.

Aside from the Flaming Red Squad, only the Royal Academy's team did not have any deaths in their ranks.

The Royal Academy students showed formidable strength in the compet.i.tion and won the final victory for just a small price.

By the end of the compet.i.tion for the top eight, the sky was already completely dark. Two of the four winning teams lost a lot of members, and they could no longer a.s.semble a team of one hundred people. If they continued to compete in the next round in this way, they would probably face total annihilation.

Whether they liked it or not, the other two teams in the top four compet.i.tion directly submitted their applications for abstention from the remainder of the compet.i.tion.

In the selection compet.i.tion between the various schools of the Howling Abyss, there were only two teams left.

The final match came ahead of schedule.

Shen Yanxiao returned to the inn with Taotie after the matches were over. At the moment she entered the room, Vermillion Bird flew into Shen Yanxiao's embrace.

"Master, how are you?"

"I saw the Ancestor of the Undead." Shen Yanxiao glanced at Xiu in the room before looking down at Vermillion Bird.

The Ancestor of the Undead had left a deep impression on her. That bone-chilling coldness made people feel that death was approaching.

Shen Yanxiao was about to continue speaking, but suddenly there was a knock on her door.

Along with that sound of knocking, s.h.i.+le's voice sounded carrying a hint of smile.

"Boss! Boss! Please, come out! Mentor Kehr is here."

Shen Yanxiao froze for a moment and then whispered to the people in the room:

"Taotie will tell you guys what happened today. I'll go and see what's the matter over there first."

After saying that, Shen Yanxiao pushed the door open and walked out.

As soon as Shen Yanxiao left, the smile on Vermillion Bird's face faded cleanly. He glanced at the adult-looking Taotie with great disgust and jumped up with a loud swoosh, throwing a kick at Taotie's knee pit.

"What a great height! You're already back, what are you still pretending for?"

Vermillion Bird was very upset because he found that even as an adult, Taotie was a little taller than him, which Vermillion Bird found really unacceptable. To think that he was not as tall as a foodie!

Taotie had a bitter face. He silently changed his appearance back to that of a child.

"Speak up!" Vermillion Bird stared fiercely at Taotie.

After Shen Yanxiao left the room, she saw a row of undead teenagers standing in the corridor.

"Hurry up, boss. Mentor Kehr is waiting for you downstairs." s.h.i.+le smilingly said.

"Alright." Shen Yanxiao nodded her head. Kehr had been here before, mostly to congratulate them. Today, she reckoned it was the same.

Shen Yanxiao took the lead to walk downstairs. Zhanye was just about to follow her when s.h.i.+le reached out and pulled him back.

"What's wrong?" Zhanye looked at s.h.i.+le in bewilderment.

s.h.i.+le narrowed his eyes at Zhanye and whispered, "Say, did boss really go to watch the compet.i.tion today?"

"Boss said she would, so she must have gone." Zhanye had an unconditional trust in Shen Yanxiao.

s.h.i.+le pursed his mouth, reached out to stroke his chin and said, "But how come I wasn't able to find her after looking around? It's not just me. I asked the other guys and they didn't find her either."

"Boss wouldn't lie to us." Zhanye was very firm.

s.h.i.+le rolled his eyes.

"You blockhead, I'm not saying anything bad about the boss. What are you so agitated about?" It must be the end, for the loyal dogs to be acting like this.
