4 Mattari

The one who pointed a gun at me was the mercenaries who came by previously, the ones who were prohibited from coming in my shop.

"Hold ya horses, don't you try to use magic. I'll fire." Putting his finger on the trigger, one of the mercenaries sneered.

"Don't you dare open your mouth, raise your hands."

It seems they are wary of my movements.

"Don't you try doin' something weird. I'll fire, I tell ya."

If I made any movements of casting any magic, they will fire the gun. And so, I obediently raised my hands.

"Kekeke, you're too conceited for a young lady."

"Just because you can use some magic, don't think you can oppose us."

…. Truth be told, not just 'some' magic though…

A barrier magic is erected around the shop, and the people who I have prohibited to enter could not come in no matter what they do.

"Destroy the window gla.s.s! Enter through there!" The mercenary pointing his gun at me shouted.

*shatter*, as the window gla.s.s shattered, the pieces scattered around the shop. Surprised, my body reacted but I held back my scream.

"Oi, but I can't enter?!" Since you are prohibited from entry, of course you could not enter even through the window.

"Give her a punch or two."

"That's right! Then we can somehow enter."

I stiffened after hearing them say so. Even if you do that, you still can't enter though…

Not only did they shatter my dear shop's window gla.s.s, but to also point a gun at me. Unforgivable.

But moving now would not be the best of plans. I have to find an opening.

"How 'bout that, lady? If I shoot you, can we enter then?" asked the mercenary with the gun.

I slowly shook my head to the sides.

"d.a.m.n, that magic of yours? Then dispel it now! Else, I'll shoot!!"

Pointing the gun towards my feet, he removed the safety switch. It seems he would shoot my feet if I do not answer.

I think about my next action. Should I dispel the barrier momentarily to let them in and find a counter chance? Or should I take a risk and take a chance right now?

*gulp*, I swallowed my breath.

The mercenary who pointed the gun at me seemed to want to say something out of impatience…

Then—

A frightening roar reverberated through the ground.

The mercenaries reflexively whirled around.

"You lot!!" Screamed Ryuse-san.

"You dare treat her roughly!?" I could hear Chise-san.

"Eeeeek!"

The mercenaries who saw the figures of the DemiMercSquad all went pale. Gradually a scream came out from the person who held the gun, and he fired his gun.

*BANG!*

I stiffened from the sound of the gun shot. No matter how robust the Demis are, if they are hit, they would not go unscathed.

"E-everyone!" I shouted in a fl.u.s.ter.

But then, the jet black lion who appeared before my eyes easily threw down the mercenary with the gun. The gun, which rolled down to the ground, was turned into dust in a moment from s.h.i.+ze-san's grip.

"s.h.i.+ze-san!"

I took his mofumofu hand to make sure there were no injuries. It seems s.h.i.+ze-san was not injured. Then, what about the others?

Looking to Sensan, Ryuse-san and s.h.i.+ze-san, the three were glaring at the three mercenaries. The match was over in an instant, and the four bad mercenaries were on the ground.

The mercenaries who were s.h.i.+vering was somehow able to stand up, and ran away with their wobbly feet.

"Don't you dare come to this town again!!"

"I'll kill you the next time!!" Roared Ryuse-san and Chise-san.

"are you guys hurt? Did you guys get shot anywhere?!" As I worriedly ask, Ryuse-san and the others were dumbfounded. Then the three burst out into laughter together.

While Ryuse-san and Chise-san was holding their stomach and laughed out, Sensan came to ask me.

"No one's hurt. Likewise, are you hurt anywhere?"

"I am not unscathed.. Thank G.o.d…" I patted myself from relief.

"Nothing's thankful for!" Chise-san shouted. His tail was wagging around intensely, and pointed to the shattered window gla.s.s.

"How dare they destroy Ojou's shop! Aaaa, I forgot to ask for reimburs.e.m.e.nt!!" shouted Ryuse-san while his fur stood up and his tail stretched straight. He then glared on the direction the mercenaries ran away to.

"Ah, please do not worry. I can repair it with magic."

Returning back to the shop, I equipped the Aurora ring. *clap*, and I focused on the flow of magic and spread my arms. Instantly, the scattered pieces of gla.s.s gently floated up and went back to the window. In a swift moment, the window is back to normal.

Coming back to my senses and look to my back, my eyes met with s.h.i.+ze-san who was right beside me.

With his amber eyes, he observed every crook and cranny, and patted me on the head. Then he went to sit on his usual seat..

"Heee.. It went back to normal."

"Cooool—"

"As expected of Ojou!"

Sensan, Chise-san and Ryuse-san were looking admiringly at the windows while moving to their seats.

Ryuse-san on the counter table, while Chise-san sat opposite of s.h.i.+ze-san. And unexpectedly, Sensan moved towards the counter and sat on the chair beside Ryuse-san.

"Ojou, are you okay now-?"

"I am fine now, thank you. I apologize to have made you worry for me." Standing beside the counter, I bowed in the Demis' direction.

Ryuse-san opened his arms wide and tried to embrace me, but I swiftly dodged to the side.

"I'm hungry already, please let me eat now! If it's not made by Tenchou, I don't have the appet.i.te!" Chise-san urged me joyfully.

Fufu, to think that he desires my cooking. It tickles me a bit.

Ryuse-san and Sensan made a small jab of words towards Chise-san.

"Don't rush Ojou," Ryuse-san warned him. It seems he is being considerate of me.

"Please wait a little. I will get to it right away."

I then went to prepare the dishes everyone ordered, and quickly brought them to their tables.

"You look like usual now, Tenchou." Chise-san while chewing his piece of steak made a very satisfied grin towards me.

"Ojou, here, sit here"

"Eh?"

While stuffing his cheeks full of steak, Ryuse-san patted the chair on his right with his tail. On the right of that seat is where Sensan is sitting on. It seems he is asking for me to sit in between them.

"Don't be too rigid around us, read a book or something."

Sensan said so while holding a sandwich in his hand.

Hesitant, my waist was suddenly wrapped in Ryuse-san's tail and urged to sit on the seat. I was then made to sit between the two of them.

"Ojou too, let's lay back together."

While cheerfully swaying around his tail, Ryuse-san continued indulging in his meal.

Looks like s.h.i.+ze-san and Chise-san who are on the table seats have nothing to complain about.

As my mouth start to soften up due to their kind consideration, I then went up to the second floor and brought down the novel I had borrowed from Sensan.

Then I sat down on the counter seat once again, where Ryuse-san's tail gently lay down on my lap. *Floof*. Begging to be spoiled, the tail wiggled around. Ryuse-san's main point seems to be wanting to frolic.

No matter how much I would love to touch the white mofumofu, it feels off to do so while he is eating.

While being mindful of the tail in my lap, I started to flip the pages of the book. Then, a big fluffy tail from the opposite side got on top of my lap as well. It was Sensan's tail.

……Mofumofu from both sides…

My, how am I able to read a book in peace with these mofumofus!

Lifting up my face, Ryuse-san and Sensan was making a big grin.

On the table seat were Chise-san who was enjoying his meal wholeheartedly and s.h.i.+ze-san who was silently bringing the piece of meat to his mouth.

This is Café Mattari, a place where one can have a fulfilling time filled with happiness.

Cute spirits are the helpers in this shop. Warm and cheerful customers support this shop, as well as the kindhearted members of the DemiMerc Squad.

Tomorrow, the day after, and days to come… This is where everyone can have a relaxed time.

While I was unable to peacefully enjoy reading a book from the interruption of two mofumofus… This is by far the most blissful time.
