2567 Huo Siqian’s Probe (7)

Before Pudding could respond, Wei Yunchu couldn’t take it anymore. He coughed out loud in interruption and gave Jiang Xiaowei a couple of eye rolls. “Mom, Pudding rarely comes over for dinner, can you not be such a Debbie Downer?”

“Ha, look, Honey, our son is criticizing you. Someone with high intelligence like you shouldn’t be making these rudimentary mistakes.”

“Shut your mouth and eat your food.” Jiang Xiaowei gave Wei Liao a warning glance.

“Uncle Wei, Auntie Xiaowei, to be honest, my parents…”

“Pudding, forget that. Let’s eat our food. Just ignore the adults, they just love to gossip. It’s rather boring.” Clearly, Wei Yunchu was looking out for his future-wife-to-be, he didn’t want his parents to get involved as he didn’t have the heart to watch Pudding bring up the situation.

He then immediately placed a large Argentinian lobster in Pudding’s bowl.

“You like seafood, right? Here, have some more. It’s super fresh because my grandma sent it over to me. I told her that you were coming for dinner today, and if it weren’t for the fact that they had a family birthday party to attend to, they would have joined us to greet you.”

“No need to be so formal. I’ve been stuck at home recently a lot, so I wanted to come out for some fresh air,” Pudding explained in a low voice.

“Pudding, you should come over and play more often. Our son likes you a lot!” Wei Liao gave his son a look, signaling ‘dude, I’ve helped all I can.’

“Of course, I will visit often.” Pudding didn’t show any resistance and ate gracefully.

Due to Pudding’s arrival, Wei Yunchu appeared to be much more engaging than usual.

After dinner, Xiaowei diced up some fruits for the kids to eat, while Wei Liao had some business and headed out.

The TV was on and it started playing the gossip between Huo Mian and Qin Chu.

Wei Yunchu immediately turned the TV off with the remote, in fear that it would upset Pudding. But really, Pudding was rather calm. Compared to Little Bean, she appeared much calmer.

“Pudding, what are you thinking?” Wei Yunchu noticed that she was s.p.a.cing out.

“Yunchu, I want to eat ice cream.”

“Okay, I have a lot of ice cream in the fridge,” Wei Yunchu jumped off the sofa and was about to head over to the kitchen before Pudding continued, “I see that you have an ice cream maker, can you make a fresh one for me?”

“Uh… I mean, I can. But, I don’t really know how to use the machine. Usually, my mom and my nanny use it the most.”

“Can you mix some milk with vanilla for me first? We can ask Auntie Xiaowei to make it for us later.”

“No problem, I will go make it now.”

“Thank you so much.” Pudding smiled a little.

Wei Yunchu zoomed into the kitchen, feeling more pa.s.sionate and enthusiastic than ever.

At this time, Jiang Xiaowei walked out of the shower.

“Auntie Xiaowei, have a seat; let’s talk about my mommy and daddy’s situation.”

“Don’t worry about it, I was just asking for a conversation. You don’t have to take it too seriously.” Jiang Xiaowei walked over as she was drying her hair. She smiled kindly at Pudding and sat down beside her.

“No, I didn’t really mind talking about the situation. Yunchu was afraid that I’d be upset, but he’s overthinking a little bit.”

“Did you deliberately find something for him to do, so you can speak to me alone?” Jiang Xiaowei glanced over at her kid who was happily working in the kitchen and asked.

“Uh-huh.” Pudding nodded.

“Okay, why don’t you tell Auntie what is going on? Initially, I didn’t really think it was a big deal, so I never asked your mommy about it. But, there’s been a lot of news going on recently, and it’s beginning to make me worried,” Jiang Xiaowei and Huo Mian were never the kinds of friends that would message each other every minute of every day, but that didn’t mean they don’t have a close relations.h.i.+p. They were often busy with their own lives, so they would only meet up maybe once every half a month. But, they still very much cared about each other.
