Didn't people say that Li Xiuying was a soft-spoken and kind-hearted woman? But the Li Xiuying she just met wasn't anything like that at all. She was cold, arrogant, and the perfect aristocratic woman that could make her feel insignificant in her presence. 

"I-I will tell him everything including how you try to hara.s.s me on the set!" Lin Meirong exclaimed. 

Yes, Li Xiuying must have asked Lan Jinyao to spite her during their takes. However, if she hadn't done that, none of them would discover her pregnancy. 

"Sure, you tell him. Do you think Mu Jianyu would believe you? I bet he wouldn't do you know why?" Li Xiuying paused, waiting for the mistress to reply but Lin Meirong said nothing but glared at her. 

"That's because I have left a perfect impression on my husband. Do you know what he told me the other day? That he has no other woman in his life except for me, that no one is comparable to me. It seems to me like he was just using you to satisfy his carnal desires."

"You're lying. If he really loves you, he wouldn't have abandoned and divorced you!" 

"Lin Meirong, who said we've already divorced? Have you seen the papers yourself?" 

Lin Meirong watched in a daze as Li Xiuying stood up and left her alone at the cafe. She only realized how dangerous this woman was when all had been said and done.

"Hi, Ying! Sorry for calling you this late. There was an emergency at work and I needed to do overtime. How's your day?" Li Chuntao asked as she pulled off her coat and boots at the doorway of her home soon to be shared with her twin sister.

Her apartment here was larger than the penthouse she and Ying owned at the capital. It was a huge apartment that was too big for just one person living here. She supposed that sharing it with her twin sister and the baby would make this dull place a little brighter once they arrived.

Her house was empty and too quiet for her liking. 

"Long. So tiring." Li Xiuying complained which only earned a laugh from her sister but that laugh immediately vanished into thin air when she heard Ying's next words, "Also didn't help that I met that s.l.u.t in the hospital." 

"Lin Meirong?" 

"Who else, Chuntao? Urgh, I don't even wanna hear her name or see her ugly face. It's making me feel nauseous." Li Xiuying groaned and rolled on her side. Now that her b.u.mp was starting to grow, she avoids laying on her stomach which had become her habit since they were young. 

Li Xiyuing then narrated to her sister what happened during her encounter with Lin Meirong. Meeting that woman made her mood turned sour and she'd lost her appet.i.te to eat the dishes Song Zexi made for her. 

She heard her twin sister sigh at the other end of the line. Li Xiuying knew her sister disapproved of what she did today. 

"Ying, you shouldn't have told her that you know her secret." Li Chuntao told her. 

"I know, I should but I just couldn't take how arrogant she was in front of me. She even went as far as mocking me by having a barren womb! How ridiculous! She would be vomiting with blood right now if she found out about my baby." 

"No. You mustn't let Lin Meirong and Mu Jianyu know about your baby. Please spare your child from this mess. I'm afraid that they'll use your baby to hurt you further than you already are." Li Chuntao insisted. "...but I have to say I'm shocked that she called you barren when clearly you are not." 

"Okay. I'll listen to you, Chuntao," Li Xiuying easily agreed to her twin sister, sensing that she was displeased by what she did earlier but could she really blame her? That arrogant smirk on Lin Meirong's face got her blood boiling with anger. 

"Instead of wasting time being angry at that woman. You should focus your attention to your baby instead. It's bad for your baby and your health if you are stressed over such a person who doesn't value your time and energy. Give your phone to Song Zexi and I'll talk to her about your meal plan." 

She just claimed it was just for Ying's meal plan when in fact she wanted to hear Song Zexi's daily reports and things that Ying had forgotten to tell her.

"Okay. I think I need a nap for the meantime, I'm really tired." 

Li Xiuying begrudgingly pa.s.sed her phone to her lady bodyguard and curled on her bed. Song Zexi excused herself and talked to Li Chuntao over the phone. Not five minutes had pa.s.sed, Li Xuying was already asleep while hugging her large doll.

"Miss Chuntao?" 

"What did her doctor say? Would she be able to travel for long hours?" Li Chuntao wasted no time and asked Song Zexi the questions that bugged her since morning knowing Ying would meet her doctor. 

"The baby seems fine and healthy, Miss. The doctor was also kind enough and did an ultrasound to let Miss Ying see her baby. Miss Ying was really happy until we met that woman."
