9: Grievous News Came

It was such a blur that the man’s desire was fully ignited.

Before Ye s.h.i.+wei could even ask what he really meant, her body and her heart had already been lost in reason and all dragged into the bottomless swamp of l.u.s.t.

She had been refraining herself from it until Mu clenched her fists, pulled up the hem of her sweater, and laid his cool thin lips tightly against her ear.

He said word by word, “From now on, you’re only allowed to do this kind of deal with me.”

Ye was stunned, and eased up a bit, with her face flus.h.i.+ng.

When he wanted her, all the murmurs coming out of his mouth showed satisfaction. Ye still held her hands against Mu’s chest, but her resistance had long been unconsciously weakened. He kissed down from between her eyebrows, and finally, when he reached her mouth, he started pulling her lips by using his teeth and gasped during the intervals.

In this way, Ye’s mind was gradually occupied by the deepest-hidden shame under this man’s leading.

It was late at night and it was stiflingly hot in the car.

Ye s.h.i.+wei felt no strength left leaning softly in Mu’s arms. She could feel pain at the slightest movement.

She raised her hand and tried to open the window.

“Don’t.”

Her little hand was suddenly wrapped by a big palm and placed back onto her leg. What followed was a tender voice, “It’s windy at night. You may catch a cold.”

Ye just slowly closed her eyes in silence.

The temperature of her body had cooled down from the original hotness. Ye felt herself dirty for making such a deal.

She finally tasted what it was like to be at the mercy of bad fortune.

It was desolate for it just meant there would be no resistance from her.

Mu’s eyes stayed on the girl in his arms all the time in the quietness.

Her eyes were closed, and under the dim and gentle lights, her black hair, which was wet with sweat, her gently trembling eyelashes, and her white skin all made her more attractive.

He was just trying to walk into her life, but it seemed a bit out of control from just the beginning.

Regardless of its authenticity, Mu was nominally Ye’s uncle.

And he did this.

Mu heaved a sigh. Over all these years, he finally tastes the feeling of helplessness.

He had thought he could have everything under control, but when it came to this girl, he just couldn’t contain himself.

As time went by, Ye s.h.i.+wei finally regained some strength. She sat up slowly and kept a distance from that man.

“Can we go to the hospital now?”

Mu seemed a little worried, and his voice became soft, “You don’t look very well. I’ll ask Fang Ze to take you back to rest. I’ll take care of the rest over the hospital.”

Ye shook her head, and said with a weak but determined voice.

“I want to stay with my mother.”

“All right.”

Fang Ze had been waiting outside all the time. And when he came back, there was even frost on his eyelashes.

As Fang started the engine, Mu quietly took Ye’s hand.

His hand was even hotter than his lips.

“Our deal is over, isn’t it?” Ye withdrew her hand, and said with all of indifference, “So please get a hold of yourself.”

Ye refused to have a look at him even after the car arrived at Kangren Hospital. She didn’t know what an ugly face he wore after she said those words.

It was just dawn and there were few people in the corridor. Instead of coming with her, Mu went straight up. Lying in such quiet and depressing environment, Ye s.h.i.+wei could even hear her heartbeat clearly.

One beat after another, it seemed like a bad omen.

As she arrived at the door of the intensive care unit, she found only an empty sickbed, and her heart almost suddenly stopped beating.

“Where’s my mother?” She stopped a nearby nurse and asked her excitedly while pointing to the empty sickbed, “Where has the person here gone?!”

“Are you the family of Bed Seven?” The nurse flipped through the book in her hand and said, “Ye s.h.i.+wei?”

“Yes! It’s me. Where’s my mom?!”

“What’s the matter with you? Your mother was in such a dangerous condition but you didn’t stay in the hospital? We couldn’t get through to you on phone, either. We couldn’t contact you at all!”

Ye asked again in a trembling and hoa.r.s.e voice, though trying to calm herself down all the time, “I’m asking you, where is my mother?”

“It was an emergency last night, and she didn’t make it. I’m sorry for your loss.”

Her words worked on her as a thump from a hammer. She could feel no other feelings except pain.

She followed the nurse numbly down to the first bas.e.m.e.nt and saw her mother’s face under the white shroud.

At that moment, she even wanted to leave with her mother.

She felt ultimate pain as if her internal organs were all twisted together.

She went numb for a long time. She even raised her hand to pinch her face hard, but she could no longer feel the pain.

Was it a dream? It turned out just a nightmare …

“Ye s.h.i.+wei!”

A male voice pulled her out of her hallucination, “You’re not in a dream. It’s useless no matter how hard you pinch yourself.”

Mu frowned grimly. As soon as he came down from the dean’s office, he saw Ye pinching herself fiercely in the corridor.

He grabbed her hand and felt no warmth. He was so worried that he pulled her directly into his arms to warm her up.

“You’ve still got me.”

However, it only sounded funny to Ye s.h.i.+wei, who stiffly moved her mouth and asked him coldly, “What do you want?”

Slightly dumbfounded, Mu frowned slightly, and slowly loosened his grip and let her free.

“What did you say?”

“I asked what you wanted.” Ye made every word clear to him. “What on earth do you want for all the suddenly returning from abroad, showing a great mercy to help us, and now the hypocritical care about me?”

She held such a strong hostility that Mu felt that he had showed kindness to an ungrateful and vicious person all long.

The tenderness hidden inside his dark eyes disappeared.

He approached her with a half-smile and spoke plainly, “Ye s.h.i.+wei, you walked yourself up into my bed first.”

This sentence, like a knife, pierced deep in Ye’s heart.

With her hands clenched and her shoulders taut, countless shameful images came to her mind. She turned pale at last and stared at Mu in great grief. She calmed down somehow.

“You already know. So you just made the deal to humiliate me.”

“Mu Tingchen, you an a.s.shole!”

Mu frowned and stared at the stubborn girl in front of him with coldness. Anger finally burst out from his threatening pair of eyes.

“To humiliate you? Do I look like such an idle person to waste time in humiliating a little girl? Ye s.h.i.+wei, you think too highly of yourself.”

Ye staggered back with a pale face.

With some self-mockery and helplessness, she said, “Yes, you are the superior Mr. Mu, and you come close to us because of great compa.s.sion rather than any purpose.”

The sarcasm in her words was so obvious that it completely exhausted Mu’s remaining patience.

His face darkened to its extreme.

“Unreasonable!”

Then he left resolutely with only this one word.
