Chapter 39: Accepted

She had thought he wouldn't look at Wechat, but …

“Uncle you …”

He had even seen through her now and knew what she was thinking.

“What, you don't expect I'll check my Wechat?”

“Hmm.”

“I just want to ask what you're doing. I haven't called because I don't want to disturb you in case you've slept.” On the other end of the phone, Mu had unusually stated to talk a lot. “I wanted to send you a message on Wechat, but it said you were typing on the screen and you didn't finish for a long time.”

As listening, Ye created the imagined scene in her mind, where Mu stared at his phone with a cold face and frowning eyes. It brought great amus.e.m.e.nt to her.

“Uncle, you …” Though with a little hesitance at first, Ye said it in the end, “When will you be back?”

Mu felt a little surprised. After a moment of silence, he asked worriedly, “What's the matter? Has something bad happened?”

“No.” Ye answered with a hoa.r.s.e sound. Looking at the empty chairs in front of her, she blurted out without regard to her inner shyness, “I miss you a little bit.”

It fell into a brief silence on the other end of the phone. But Ye could still make out his short breath on the other end which he clearly tried to contain.

After waiting for a long time, she finally received a light sound from him. “Mmm-hmm.”

“I”ll be back soon.”

He didn't say more, but it was already enough.

“I'd like to eat hamburger and French fries.”

If she made such a request at ordinary times, Mu would certainly blame Ye and forbid her to eat these junk food, but today, it seemed that all he could do was to satisfy her as much as possible.

“OK, I'll buy on my way home.”

Hanging up the phone, Ye felt a relaxation she never had before.

She decided to tell her uncle her true feelings for him after he came back and tell him she didn't plan to run away when things had gone so far.

No matter what they would be depicted in tomorrow's papers, she would gladly accept it.

It was herself who fell in love with her own uncle, and she was also prepared to make sacrifices for their twisted love.

There would be nothing to be afraid of.

However, she didn't see him back home for a whole day.

She woke up from the couch in the living room, looked at the dim light out of the window, and then realized it had again been at night.

She got up, her legs a little numb. She gave her knees a few rubs and then walked towards the kitchen.

Li Ma was preparing dinner right now.

“Li Ma, my uncle hasn't come back yet?”

“Yes.”

“Has he called?”

“Fang Ze called saying they got held up by something temporarily so it'll be only just the two of us having dinner tonight.”

She was a little disappointed at hearing this. She really wanted to see him.

“By the way, Miss Ye, Fang Ze has asked you not to go out for the time being. You know, there are always the hidden paparazzi outside.”

“I understand.”

“And … don't watch news for the time being.”

She totally understood all of these. Getting caught by the media in that scene, Ye believed there would be full of reproach saying her a b.i.t.c.h on the internet right now.

Or something like she had no morals to even seduce her own uncle …

She could already imagine a lot without having to watch the news.

“Don't worry, Li Ma. I know what to do.”

Ye had planned to go upstairs to read for a while, but a phone call suddenly came in at this moment.

She held out her phone excitedly, thinking it was from Mu. But what she saw was an unfamiliar number.

With an ominous feeling emerging in her mind, she couldn't help getting nervous.

After hesitating for a while, she answered it in the end.

A familiar female voice was then heard. It was the voice she would never forget and also couldn't be unfamiliar with.

It was Li Haina who called.
