Hymn 31.

"_Shall we gather at the river._"

Shall we gather at the river Where bright angel feet have trod; With its crystal tide for ever Flowing by the throne of G.o.d?

Cho.--Yes, we'll gather at the river, The beautiful, the beautiful river-- Gather with the saints at the river, That flows by the throne of G.o.d.

2 On the margin of the river, Washing up its golden spray, We will walk and worship ever All the happy, golden day.

3 Ere we reach the shining river, Lay we every burden down; Grace our spirits will deliver And provide a robe and crown.

4 At the smiling of the river, Mirror of the Saviour's face, Saints whom death will never sever, Lift their songs of saving grace.

5 Soon we'll reach the shining river, Soon our pilgrimage will cease; Soon our happy hearts will quiver With the melody of peace.

Hymn 32.

"_There's a land that is fairer than day._"

There's a land that is fairer than day, And by faith we can see it afar, For the father waits over the way, To prepare us a dwelling place there.

Chorus: In the sweet bye and bye, We shall meet on that beautiful sh.o.r.e; In the sweet bye and bye, We shall meet on that beautiful sh.o.r.e.

2 We shall sing on that beautiful sh.o.r.e, The melodious songs of the blest, And our spirits shall sorrow no more, Not a sigh for the blessing of rest.

3 To our bountiful Father above, We will offer our tribute of praise, For the glorious gift of his love, And the blessings that hallow our days.

4 We shall meet, we shall sing, we shall reign, In the land where the saved never die; We shall rest free from sorrow and pain, Safe at home in the sweet bye and bye.

Hymn 33. 6s & 4s.

My faith looks up to thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary, Saviour divine; Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away, O let me from this day Be wholly thine.

2 May thy rich grace impart Strength to my fainting heart, My zeal inspire: As thou hast died for me, O may my love to thee Pure, warm, and changeless be, A living fire.

3 While life's dark maze I tread, And griefs around me spread, Be thou my guide; Bid darkness turn to day, Wipe sorrow's tears away, Nor let me ever stray From thee aside.

4 When ends life's transient dream, When death's cold sullen stream Shall o'er me roll; Blest Saviour, then in love Fear and distrust remove; O bear me safe above, A ransom'd soul.
