Shen Tianyu's cheeks immediately puffed up and she began shaking but put a hand over her mouth and another over her stomach, doubling over to hide her face . 'So lame! And she even wanted to tame a demonic beast! She was talking so arrogantly I thought she had something but she fainted?! In the middle of the a.s.sessment! Ah, don't think about this anymore, Shen Tianyu, or you'll really laugh out loud . Don't laugh, don't laugh, don't laugh . Save it until tonight . '

The two friends of the girl carefully carried her down from the proctor's back and laid her on the ground . "What will happen to her now?" He was referring to her score and whether she would be disqualified and sent home right now since she can no longer prtic.i.p.ate .

"She can't even walk, you expect her to be able to keep partic.i.p.ating? I'll have someone send her to the Infirmary and then back home once she wakes up . " The proctor kneaded the back of her head in annoyance . Just then, the girl jolted awake, sittinig up so fast it scared her friends and wildly swung her head around, looking for something .  

"Welp . Nevermind I guess . She's awake now so I guess she can continue . " The proctor replied as she sighed in relief and put her hand down .  

"I . . . Where am I?" She asked, realizing that she was no longer where she had pa.s.se dout .

"You're outside the forest, the a.s.sessment is over . " One of her female friends softly told her with a hand smoothing down her back in an attempt to comfort and calm her down .

"Over? It's over . . . so it's over . . . " She repeated to herself .

"Heeey . " The proctor bent down and waved her hand in front of the sitting girl . "Your head okay? Need to go to the infirmary?" 

The girl jolted as if she was shocked and looked back at the proctor for a second, regaining her bearings . "Oh . Yes . I'm fine . Thank you . "

"Alright then . " The proctor straightened herself and announced to the rest of the group . "The a.s.sessment is over, I'll record your scores, you all can go now . "

Shen Tianyu finally straightened up and managed to push down her laughter temporarily .  The last member of the group immediately turned and left . The other two tried to help their friend to her feet and half carried her away . Shen Tianyu stayed behind until they were all gone before she approached the proctor who was managing the crows .  

"Um . . . Mis proctor, I have a question . . . "

"What is it?" She replied shortly .

"You seem to recognize the tiger spiritual beast I tamed, can you tell me what exactly it is?" She asked shyly, hoping the other won't just shoo her away because she was disturbing her work .

The proctor turned to her in surprise . "You don't know what kind of beast it is?" 

Shen Tianyu lightly shook her head no . The proctor turned to the tiger beside her, stunned . The tiger spiritual beast turned away from her and made a scoffing noise .

The proctor managed to close her hanging mough and gathered enough thought to reply to her question . "This- It, wait no, is it a him?" She cleared her throat . "It is a Mirrored h.e.l.l Tiger . They are able to see a person's true nature, and to some extent, predict the future depending on what they see in the person . This power can also be used on other demonic beasts or animals and so along with their natural prowess, they are usually named the kings of wherever they reside . Because of this defferential treatment, they are n.o.ble in character and the least likely to bend to humans . This Mirrored h.e.l.l Tiger actually wasn't included in the list of demonic beasts up for taming but no one had the nerve to even try to chase it out of it's home so we just let it be . "

"Oh, really? I picked up quite the treasure then!" Shen Tianyu clapped her hand sin glee . "However, I found some sword marks a bit from where I found it so it might be a good idea to temporarily remove her? It would be bad if she was injured by another applicant . "

The proctor stared at her in utter shock and confusion . Shen Tianyu tilted her head and made a questioning noise .  

"What do you mean? You're returning her?" The other asked .

"Well yeah . She's technically a part of the School right? It would cause problems within the forest if she suddenly dissappeared . Besides, our agreement was just for her to accompany me out, not to follow me for life . On top of that, she's the king here right? So, it would probablt better for her to stay here instead . " Shen Tianyu explained with an equally confused expression .  

"Wait no . Wait . " The proctor held her face in her hands as if she was getting a headache . Shen Tianyu bent forward to try to help .

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked in concern . It would be bad if she managed to give a headache to one of the Senior Sisters before she even officially got accepted .

"No . Don't you understand? She's the king of the forest, she's powerful . Don't people usually try to bring such a spiritual beast with them even if it meant putting their life on the line?" 

"Huh? Well, it's not like I won't be seeing her . I'll come visit occa.s.sionally of course . " Shen Tianyu didn't understand the problem . Sure her new spiritual beast sounded powerful but it's not like she could just take it away from it's home . There were probably a lof of things the tiger cared about there, or else she wouldn't have stayed when humans kept intruding on her land and disturbing her . With how it sounded, if she wanted to up and leave and settle somewhere else, not many would have been able to stop her . And they had no reason to as long as she wasn't attacking humans, though humans themselves can be quite stubborn and unreasonable .  

The proctor sighed in defeat . "Fine, fine . I'll take her back then . I'll ask the elders how to incorporate this into your score but son't worry, your score won't be low . " 

"Okay, thank you!" Shen Tianyu bent down in a slight bow . "Oh, might I also ask, where did you find that last applicant?" She put on a slightly worried face . "You said you guys didn't put any demonic beasts that were dangerous enough to threaten out lives but she became like that . . . "

"Ah . . . It's really nothing too dangerous . It just looks scary . " The proctor understood that she was scared for her safety both during the test and moving forward so she deemed it fit to just tell her both to comfort her and fro the reputation of the School . "I found her near the entrance of the exit, near a centipede demonic beast . The thing looks scary but it's actually not that dangerous, it's actually a little low on the hierarchy of the forest so no need to worry . "

"Ah, is that so . . . thank you for answering my question, Miss Proctor . I look forward to seeing you again . " Shen Tianyu bowed with a relieved sigh and turned to leave, running to catch up tot eh applicants that had left before her . Unbeknowest to the proctor, as soon as she turned arpund, Shen Tianyu's face immediately changed into one suppressing laughter . Even as she ran, she tried to not laugh too loud or else she might get in trouble with the proctor behind her that was still staring at her with awe and shock .

'She got so scared of the centipede that she fainted and was out of commission for the whole a.s.sessment! And here I thought what kind of big figure she could be to talk sh*t about people to their face . It seems like she's just a dog with bark but no bite . Fainting from a centipede! I admit I was creeped out but I wasn't so scared of the thing I felt light-headed or anything . If that thing had chased after or attacked me, I still would have been able to fight it off . Such a third-rate . Ah, I wodner if she'll really be bale to pa.s.s this entrance exam . . . It'll be best if she didn't pa.s.s so I won't have to see her face again . People that judge others on superficial things and out of their own negative emotions aren't exactly people I like . . . ' She commented to herself as she thought how entertaining a story it would be to tell Rong Jian tonight . "I wonder if he'll find this as funny as I do . " She found herself whispering out loud before she shook her head to try to focus .

It didn't take long for her to arrive at the final a.s.sessment for the exam . The last exam was from the Array and Talisman department . As both of these techniques were support cla.s.s, they were meshed together into one department . It didn;t exactly help either that a lof of people didn't actually care to dig deeper into arrays so most applicants ended up joining the Sword or Fist Department . Rarely would anyone choose to enter the Array and Talisman Department despite it's usefulness .
