They arrived in front of the Forest soon after and finally stopped their long trek . It had only taken a day at their top speed but it was already night . It would be dangerous to go in right now .

"When we arrived, we more or less had no choice but I'd rather not stay in such a secluded village . See, everyone knows everyone else right? So if they commit any crimes, they'd cover for each other, and being so far away from any major establishments, it would be too late before someone realizes something was wrong with the guest they were receiving . Sometimes, humans are more dangerous than any demonic beast, you know?" She smirked as she slightly turned her head to the side so he could see .

Rong Jian agreed and they began to look around more attentively, stretching their senses and listening to the rustling of bushes to find a clearing . The piece of cloth was big enough for two people to lay on their backs without any body part touching the ground, though it was somewhat of a tight fit .

"Ah, we should eat something first . We haven't eaten all day . " Shen Tianyu suddenly realized they had yet to enjoy a meal and sat back up . At the mention of food, a growl went through the small clearing . Shen Tianyu slowly looked to her side and saw an embarra.s.sed Rong Jian, blus.h.i.+ng up to his ears and holding his stomach with one hand .

She then broke out in a laugh, bending over and trying to cover it with her sleeves but obviously couldn't hold it in .

"Don't laugh . This is all Tian'er's fault . I would have been fine if only you didn't mention food . " Rong Jian pouted, his embarra.s.sment not fading one bit but trying to act tough .

"Ahaha, yes yes, it was my fault . Now come sit down, we can eat here . " Shen Tianyu finally managed to stop her laughing long enough to speak . Rong Jian sat with his back facing her, sulking as he took out some of the food they had bought earlier that day .

Only when Rong Jian was halfway done with his meal did Shen Tianyu finally finish laughing and caught enough breath to take out her portion of food and start eating .

"I'll scout the area a bit more . " Rong Jian said standing up .

Shen Tianyu looked at him while biting into a bread she held in her hands . "Hm?" She chewed and swallowed before she talked . "Are you still sulking about just now?"

"Wh I am not!" Rong Jian's face flushed red again .

"Right on the bullseye, huh? Come on, don't sulk anymore . I'm sorry I laughed okay? Stop sulking and sit down . Talk with me or something . " Shen Tianyu patted the spot beside her on the cloth .

They, being cultivators and Golden Core stage at that, had high perception ability . If anything unnatural came close, they could detect it with their senses . There was no need to purposefully walk around the premises to scout . That's why Shen Tianyu knew he was actually just still upset about her laughing at him .
