Chapter 2996 One Down

"Try harder," I taunted again, but there was barely any change this time; it seemed like this was its most powerful ability.

It is quite powerful, and if I did not have it bound, I would have been scared for my life.

It is powerful enough that it has attracted even more attention from the world.

The suppression of the world, which is so powerful that despite not being targeted by it, I started to feel a little breathless under its pressure.

"I will kill you!" it roared in a fury, and the ball of that dense fire had formed in its claws, and it threw it at me, or tried to, as it found out, the dense ball of golden fire was not moving from its claws.

What happened in the next second is comical; it tried to throw away the ball of fire while it remained sticking to its claws.

"Ahhhhh!" it screamed in frustration, and it came at me while the fire around it threw even brighter.

It came at me, wanting to capture me in its arms; if it had not been bound, it would have been able to do that, but now, the strings have slowed down its speed by so much that I could easily avoid it.

"You will have to do better to catch me, Raxth," I said as I dodged its comical hug one more time.

"So, what you have bound me? I could feel you are powering your strings by burning your essence," it said as it suddenly stopped.

"How long can you continue? Ten minutes, twenty minutes at a max hour, after that, you will be mine, and I promise you, I will tear you apart limb by limb, in a most painful way," it stated.

"Quite an imagination you have," I said before suddenly a smile bloomed across my face.

"You are right, I could not continue for long, nine minutes, and I will be completely drained, but I am not worried about it because you will be able to fill my reserves," I said, and genuine confusion appeared in its eyes.

It opened its mouth to voice that out, likely when suddenly it stopped, and a shock appeared on its face, and soon, that shock turned into a horror.

As it found out, its aura begins to decrease, and with it, its power.

"Wwhat are you doing to me?" it asked in sheer horror, "Nothing, just lowering your magical weight," I replied.

I succeeded in wrapping my strings around its core and veins; after doing that, lowering its strength is an easy thing.

"You b.a.s.t.a.r.d, I will kill you!" it shouted loudly as horror and helplessness turned into rage.

I avoided its claw, but it attacked again and again and again for nine seconds before I stopped and let the attack come close to me.

"You have polluted our world long enough, vermin; it is time for you to die," I said, and just when its claw inch away from me and that dense fire licking the strings of my armor, Raxth had disappeared.

Appearing into the spatial formation, which is waiting for it.

It appeared, and I was about to ask Nero to strengthen the formation when suddenly I stopped when I noticed my core was able to bear it; it was at its limit, but it was bearing it.

"Eleven minutes," I said; I have eleven minutes and need to kill at least two more Grimms, or everything will be for naught.

While the power this one will provide will be huge, it will not be enough as it will take me to limit.

I will not be able to absorb everything; it has to offer. If I were able to do that, I would have become capable enough to fight against Grimms without burning my essence, but unfortunately, that is not going to happen.

Things are not bleak; as long as I kill the two more Grimms before the mist disappears, we will have a chance in defeating the rest of Grimms or at least surviving without getting wiped out.

"You have really killed it," said the voice in shock when I was about to move.

"You shouldn't doubt you, son, mom," I said to my mother, "You are right; I shouldn't doubt you," she said with a proud smile, and I smiled back before my expression turned serious.

"You could hold it for another eleven minutes, right?" I asked, "Twelve if I stretched myself," she replied; I nodded and moved.

I had to relieve Matron Mavis that the old woman had nearly completely drained herself. She will die the moment she stops burning her essence, and I don't have confidence whether even I could be able to save her from it.

"Matron," I said as I appeared beside the old woman, as she was taunting the Grimms, who had Ashlyn on her shoulder.

She is the one saving the old women whenever the Grimms use the area-wide attacks. Her condition is also not good, but I will be needed to ask her to continue till we finish with Grimms.

"Have you killed it?" she asked, with her eyes sharp as ever. "Yes," I replied before my expression turned serious as I burrowed three seeds inside her.

"You should rest now; there is barely any essence remaining in you," I said while working on my seeds.

"I will fight these b.a.s.t.a.r.ds till my last breath," she said clearly, not willing to listen to what I had to say.

"Matron, I have found a way to kill this Grimms; there is no need for you to recklessly risk yourself," I said seriously, but a smile appeared on the face of the old woman.

"I think, you and both aware, that I am beyond saving now," she said with a smile; she does not seem to fear death.

"I am the healer; you let me worry about that," I said, and the old woman smiled, and the next second, I felt her stop burning her essence, and immediately, she went still.

She had stopped breathing.

If anyone looked at her, they would say she is dead; she is very close, but not dead. Though she could die, even I don't have full confidence that I would be able to save her.

I sighed, and a second later, a teleportation formation appeared, and she disappeared through it.

"Will you be able to save her?" asked mom, "I don't know, her condition is very bad," I said and turned toward the Grimms.

While I may seem like I was wasting precious seconds, I was not; my clone was controlling the strings, doing the fine job targeting the two Grimms.

The one who is Matron and Ashlyn are fighting, who is chasing their phantoms, and the Rai is fighting, who now has become powerful enough with mutation, still merging with his body, that he is fighting against the Grimms to a standstill.

Even injuring it, as the Grimm chase the phantoms.

I closed my eyes to focus; Ashlyn is here; she will save me from any wide area attack coming at me, while my mom will keep the Grimms busy with her mist phantoms.

The only thing I have to do is wrap the strings around the Grimm, with little more than ten minutes.

I had needed more than half an hour to do that with Raxth, but there is a chance that I will be able to do it with the time I have, as I have data.

I know what steps to take and what is useless; I hope with this data, I will be able to do because if not, then n.o.body will be able to save us from being wiped out.

As after we completely drained, even a single remaining Grimm would be able to finish us off without breaking a sweat.
